Ong Kee Yip Chee May Big Bun @ Taman Connaught, Cheras

People keep saying Yip Chee May Tai Pao Yip Chee May Tai Pao! Well it do really refer to her Tai Pao (big bun)- if you know what I mean :P Go google yourself. Anyway for 4 years studying in UCSI, I never know such big bun existed nearby. I decided to give it a try when I pass by Taman Connaught after my short trip at Paya Indah Wetlands.

Yup it wasn't from a restaurant or any food shop. It actually a sell on the truck at road side. It is very easy to spot on since it was along the road where the famous Pasar Malam Taman Connaught was. Here are the list of buns they sell.

Since I am curious, of course I am getting the largest bun I ever seen in my life - Yip Chee May big breast big bun while deary trying other bun.

The uncle is very friendly too after he saw I was holding a camera and shooting around. He offer himself to be photograph together with other breasts big bun in the tray.

Well I am keeping it until dinner actually and deary decided to throw into micro oven to warm it.

And guess she set the temperature too high or too long duration, the breast big bun surface was burn. Well it is still edible actually and taste not bad :P

Here is the size of the big breast bun and I gotta use fork and spoon to eat it.

To be honest. Overated for me. It is big. But it also very zai to finish eat it alone. I gave up after ate half of it. It is way too oily that make me feel disgusted and feel jelak over it. Not to mention it actually nothing special. Just like ordinary big bun but in bigger size only.

Guess I gonna stop eating breast bun for a moment ;/

Restaurant Real Kung Fu

When come to real kung fu, i dun think it mean literally those kung fu fighting, but in terms of skill. Last 2 days i went to this restaurant with my friends for lunch. I heard from Mark that actually they has they same outlet at China (with bruce lee pic also) and when i google it they was selling mee and rice. But what happen here, this Real Kung Fu was selling Bat Kut Teh!

* The Authentic Klang BKT yo! *

Sadly they served d BKT individually, no big pot. They have variety types of meat to be served such as Bai Kuat, Yuen Kuat, Sai Kuat & etc. There are 7 of us eating it and we just regret that we din ordered each variety coz v ordered the same types of meat. Besides BKT, they also serve some side dishes.

* What is BKT without yau char kuai? :D *

This are the types of BKT we ordered.

* Yuen Kuat *

* Bai Kuat *

* Pun Fei Sau *

I'll said the taste was not bad. Thought quantity not much, but each of the pork have alot meat! Their white rice have taste as well. This is what we call Klang style (according to my senior). Oh i almost forgot, it cost RM9.50 per pot. I guess the price kinda standard but some might look it abit expensive base on the portion served by them.

It was located at Taman Connaught, same row wif KFC ;)..it is very ez to be spotted due to the eye catching bruce lee pics on it.

i-Shabu Steamboat

i-Shabu Steamboat is a new shop that located near my uni, which is at Jalan Gading1 on 1st floor. For me, it is like shabushabu style where each person is given their own pot for steamboat. I went there on wed wif Sophia.

* Self service *

What attracted me most is their Super Value Set Lunch where available from 11am to 2pm, mon to fri only which cost RM5.90 for whole set. 4 choices of set are given and we can combine it wif rice, mee or bihun. Obviously the portion is just right enough for a person.

* Bihun *

* Set 1 *

* Thats what we got for RM5.90 *

Is a nice place to hang around since the environment was not bad and the price is kinda reasonable. I'll b back again wif my friends.

Friends from Singapore Visiting

Weijie & Yingzi came to MY since last sat until mon. On the first nite they reach MY, we brought them to Asian Cafe for dinner and supper at Snowflake. Later Weijie tapao SS15 burgers to hotel as well. Well, this is how the beginning of makan trip happen on the next day.

These are those ppl who i spend time together during my last day of my semester break :

Including me and Mell (she camera shy), there are total 8 of us joined the makan trip. They went to sing K on the early morning at The Garden and i am not joining coz not in the mood of singing n no money. Later, i met them at Taman Connaught for lunch, Sun Ming Restaurant Duck Rice (click here for my past review about this shop).

We ordered whole duck roast, RM20 char siew and RM10 siew yuk.

* Char Siew *

* Siew Yuk *

* Ducksssssss *

After lunch, is time for some exercise. Ok is them not me. We went to pool at Perfect Pool located in Taman Connaught Giant. I am sucks at pool and i guess i still prefer bowling. Thus i din play and just sit there watch them play..while emo-ing about my phone which already fixed now :)

* Pool Session*

After pool session, we went to dinner at SS2. Mell suggested a shop tat sell Penang food specialty. The restaurant was called Lorong Seratus Tahun. Sam & Vic joined us during dinner.

* penang Char Kuey Teow *

* Penang Ais Kacang *

* Curry Mee *

* Penang Rojak *

Oh well..this shop wun be marked under my favourite shop because :
1) price kinda expensive base on the portion food they served
2) Penang food specialty? nth special. It seem can get everywhere even hawker stall
3) i ordered Penang Rojak since i am still full wif duck. But it kinda disappointed me. Portion small, taste normal, sauce too much and very expensive (rm8+). The uncle that sell rojak at Sri Rampai pasar malam nicer!
4) The curry mee ordered by Yingzi got...Cockroach leg. I din take d pic but u can wait for Yingzi or Xiang post about it in their blog. However due to this, all our food wasn't count in the bill after we made a complain.

* There mell is on the left..haha *

After thay Weijie craving A&W (i heard he told me SG dun have A&W). Ok he wan to take d rootbear wif float actually. Thus we heading there for it. As well as get a waffle.

After that we brought them to KTZ dessert shop (click here for my past review about this shop). As usual, i ordered my favorite HoneyDew-Loh! it was a satisfying dessert for me :D

* Honeydew LOH *

This is how i spend my last day hols wif them. It was fun and kilogram adder outing. Hope to see them soon again or i will travel down to Sg to meet them and vacation..Who know? pray hard i win lottery so tat my wish can be fulfill end of this year k? :D

Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House

It have been long time since i tried new place or new food. Heard from Eng Kiat that nearby my uni, Taman Connaught there is a famous curry noodle house. Thus, today after class i went there together wif my unimate.

* The shop we went.. *

Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House. This restaurant been visited/interviewed by one of the Astro AEC food program called ah xian (i guess tats what it call). Thus, i believe d food should b not bad. My first impression when i reach there was "Wah crowded wei! must be damn nice".

Later we are served by a waitress (or mayb she is d boss..not sure) who tried to be friendly wif us but i just felt tat she is not trying be friendly but lanci..LOL..ok mayb i am wrong that she just dun mean it but..mayb she overdo it? when she ask us what to eat, we are asking for a menu since most of us are first timer and she answered "first time ah? can see la those on pic are our famous food bla bla"..do u expect me to know wtf is tat food by looking on d pic -__-...like a fried chicken, you wouldn't know it was normal fried chicken or KFC friend chicken if just looking on d pic..LOL..then finally she gave us menu and when she ordering, she said "Confirm wan curry noodle ah? dun change later ah"..wtf -__-

Anyway i not ordered Curry Noodle due to my ulcer. I ordered one of their famous mee, Dry Chili Pan Mee with Egg (can order without egg also). And here is what my mee looks like...

* Dry Chili Pan Mee with Egg *

Pan Mee? Is Pan Mee went through EVOLUTION and become thinner and thinner like Lou Shu Fan? Not to mention there was no soy sauce on mee..just plain mee and manually add the chili by own..which remind me FACE TO FACE shop...

For me i think Pan Mee tat located near my house nicer than this. Oh well, individual taste anyway. I dun reli like to eat Pan Mee with that way, not to mention, that mee wasn't Pan Mee..Dun argue with me! i am Pan Mee lover! =P

* Spicy Chicken, yummy! *

* Nicol & Yeng *

* Joe & Max *

Sun Ming Restaurant - Char Siew Duck Rice ICHIBAN!

Finally i managed to grab my ass today and went to this shop, Sun Ming! It was located at Taman Connaught, Cheras. To be honest i never felt any nice food to eat at Taman Connaught. Plus food in my uni was kinda normal with d overated prices. Thanks to Yat! He recommended me this shop not long ago and i got my chance to try it wif my coursemate.

I went there after class, which is around 1pm. As i expected, that shop was crowded wif ppl due to lunch time. Well, Sun Ming is famous for d roasted duck. However their Char Siew and Siew Yuk not bad too! It was fantastic!

* People who ta pao willing to queue so long just for d food *

* All the roasted duck was fresh and just served *

* The worker "reload" the new fresh roasted duck *

Under Yat recommendation, i got myself a Char Siew Duck Rice. The Char Siew was half fat half meat (i guess tats d way they call it). In addition, d feeling when u bite d char siew was difference than d usual char siew v use to ate from most chicken rice shop and it taste nice! Same goes to the roasted duck! The duck skin was abit crisp and taste nice!

* The roasted duck...YUMMY *

* The half fat half meat char siew *

* Ta daaa! Char Siew & Duck *

I heard u could actually straight away buy d duck at there as well. It cost around Rm40+ for a duck. Besides, the cost for Char Siew Duck Rice was RM7. Well, more expensive than i expected but it worth it! Coz it was reli nice and rarely to get this kind of shop around =)
