Total Recall Movie

Courtesy of Nuffnang, I get to catch Total Recall movie last night at Cathay Cinema.

Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police - controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world - Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

It is a remake from Total Recall (1990) with the same theme, same character, same story. I never watch the original before thus, my opinion on this movie will be difference from people who actually watch the original before and disappointed with the new one.

Honestly, I love the theme and concept. It is interesting and it could be very awesome mind fucked psychology movie. However I guess instead of doing psychology, it is more to action movie. This movie will never let your breath stay cool since it packed with alot action. Running, Gun fight, fist combat, jump and fall down like a boss are all shown in this movie. I guess it is little too much and repeating.

There are alot loophole in this movie. It might contain spoiler, thus read on your own risk :P First, why Lori are so motivated to kill Douglas/Hauser? Did he ever done anything wrong to her beside being a traitor? It is already shown she wanna killed him before know his real identity. Plus, she could actually killed Hauser at the end of the movie before he awake but it ended up she killed by Hauser. Cohaagen also able to kill Hauser when he took out his knife and Hauser was facing his back. Instead if stab him, Cohaagen slash his body. In the whole movie, Melina name was mentioned once only.

I have been told in the original movie there are actually involve planet Mars, ALIEN! But in this version it doesnt has Mars but, they have the 3 breast hooker (Just like the original) that appear less than 5 second. Is she Alien?

I actually feel abit boring and tired when watching this movie because of the overused action. Anyway, Total Recall is available in cinema now. So catch it if you are there just to watch 2 hot chick or bad luck Hauser!
