Hotel Deluxe《百星酒店》 and I Love Hong Kong 2013 《2013我愛HK 恭囍發財》 Movie

Once a year, I will have movie marathon on chinese movie with le gf! Well I know nothing much quality chinese movie nowdays. I just watch for the sake of watching and leisure. Plus support few of my favourite cast as well.

Brand new “Hundred Stars Hotel” is a well-equipped five-star hotel located at Qiandao Lake, Hangzhou. However, this hotel is run by a group of incompetent staff including OK (Ronald Cheng) the Assistant Manager, Pacino (Chapman To) the Chief Bartender, Peach (Sandra Ng) the Head of Housekeeping and Sammy (Janelle Sing) the Receptionist. Rumor has it that a mysterious hotel detective will arrive soon and define the rating of “Hundred Stars Hotel”. In order to match the five-star standard, harsh Cruella (Teresa Mo) has been appointed as the Hotel Manager to restructure the hotel. Cruella takes the chance to develop “Hundred Stars Hotel” as the shooting location for a big budget movie. Two leading actresses Marilyn (Karena Ng) and Audrey (Lynn Xiong) stay in the hotel and they are arrogant and too hot to handle. OK is assigned to serve Marilyn and gradually Marilyn falls in love with OK. Meanwhile, Paris (Fiona Sit), the daughter of a tycoon and a very good friend to OK, is also staying in the hotel. Paris has to get married in order to inherit her father’s huge assets. OK finds a handsome but nerdy Security Guard Mark (Yu Bo) to be her fake groom and a fake wedding ceremony is about to begin. However, Peter Chan (Raymond Wong), Paris’ uncle who is also one of the heirs, is craving for the wealth and trying all means to ruin the wedding. When OK knows Paris will go back to U.S. for good after the wedding, OK finally realizes Paris is indeed the one he loves. OK proposes to Paris and Paris accepts, the fake wedding becomes a real one! Cruella and Peach suspect a countryman Jim (Jim Chim) is the mysterious hotel detective. They do their very best to please him with overwhelming services. In the meantime, the rest of the staff are organizing the wedding ceremony of Paris and OK, and protecting them from Peter’s conspiracy. Finally all of them discover that Jim is not the mysterious hotel detective but Mark, who joins the hotel as the Security Guard, secretly monitors the services of the hotel. Mark is touched by their positive attitude and classifies “Hundred Stars Hotel” as a Five-Star Deluxe.

I guess the synopsis pretty much explain and spoil the whole movie LOL..nevertheless, a very good laughing and heart warming movie. However pretty mess up in terms of the plot. The plot is lack of dynamic and pretty flat. Character development wasn't seen much in the movie as well.

However the comedy elements is there. At least I do enjoy myself and laugh from the beginning till the end of the movie. I do love the part where Fiona Sit confess to her grandparent what kind of guy she like while looking on Ronald Cheng. The camera angle and her acting is superb :)

The story takes place in the 1970s until modern times, in which all families are happily prepare and welcome the Chinese New Year in Hong Kong. However, a traditional restaurant in Yau Ma Tei faces terrible problem. At last, everything solved with the neighbours’ kind support and assistance as happy ending.

In other hand, I Love Hong Kong 2013 has pretty good story line. It create pretty good setting on one of the Hong Kong tradition, Dim Sum restaurant. While the story is very nice, touched and also heart warming, le gf complain their camera angle too plain. It would be better with some variety especially to capture some emotion.

Other than that, I feel the singing part was pretty waste the screening time. Lousy green screen can be seen in the movie as well. Alot potential scene was wasted too where the director can easily turn it into pretty good comedy for laughter.

Overall, I do love this movie very much. Good moral value in whole movie and also good TVB cast espcially Alan Tham and Veronica Yip.

CNY Movie Marathon - Journey 2 : The Mysterious Island, I Love Hong Kong 2012 (2012 我愛HK 喜上加囍), All Well End Well 2012 (八星抱喜) and Ah Beng The Movie : Three Wishes (阿炳:心想事成)

It is Chinese New year!! Yesterday i am having movie marathon with deary at One Utama. We broke the record this time with 4 movies in a row! Too much movie and head spinning wtf

Young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first film) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. It's a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean's new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

Very nice matter painting and 3D modeling in this movie. What i love most was the creativity for combining 3 island into one island, the Mysterious Island. However storyline pretty predictable. Was expecting more adventure in the island instead rushing it about the island gonna sink to the bottom of sea and they need to survive and rescue themself.

Plus, there are some scene doesnt make sense according the the island law. Some insect are suppose to be big (like centipede) is small in the movies. How could Hanks manage to throw the spear without any resistance under the water? Oh well, logic or not, this movie still entertaining.

Bet the target audiences is more for people who love fantasy and children..why? because kids love Dwayne Johnson in comedy style.

Well, CNY of course i am expecting to watch some chinese movie. Followed up by last year, this year we have another movie from TVB Production, I Love Hong Kong 2012 (2012 我愛HK 喜上加囍).

Kuok is famous weather forecast announcer, who dreams to be in the headlines, but failed to do so even when he is about to retire. One day, he finds out that the world is facing a deadly threat and the chance arises to him to become a news sensation. This is when the fun, laughter and havoc come in place.

As usual, this movie gimmick is alot alot alot of TVB Actors/Actress. It is hardly for me not to compare last year "I Love Hong Kong" eventhough both are not same story. I love the previous year more due to a very great moral value and meaningful in the story. Compare to this year, it is more focused on the end of the world and dream.

Don't get me wrong, i dislike it doesnt mean is not good. The movie is still very enjoyable and funny. Thumb up to Standley Fung for being most focused and developed character in this movie. The last thing i dun like from this movie is the ending song...Amazing Grace....WHY!!???

The most ROFLMAO scene is the "You're apple of my eyes" scene...i wonder how much copyright they paid for the scene..hahaha

Next movie, All Well End Well 2012 (八星抱喜)!

Network tycoon Maximilian established an all weather female support site. Men come to bat and the only remuneration for them is one grateful embrace. On quest in helping the female protagonists, the heroic mission of these four men turns to be a journey discovering their self significant and values. And their embrace resembles the blossom of a beautiful relationship.

Love this movie much better than previous All Well End Well series. The story telling is much meaningful rather than forcefully being lame. The story was separated into 4 where Raymond Wong about being a father, Donnie Yen about chasing a dream, Louis Koo about photography (at least that i could think of XD) and Chapman To about love story. Donnie Yen acting are much better here. And thumb up to Louis Koo character name as Holland Kin...Hou Lan Kin LOL

I love how director connect the story. Out of 4 main character, he manage did a little connection between Louis Koo and Chapman To side. Other than that, story went pretty predictable, well it is all well end well afterall. Happy ending for all.

The final movie of the marathon was none other than Ah Beng The Movie : Three Wishes (阿炳:心想事成).

Ah Beng, Ah Lian, Rain, Bobby and Salted Fish Lian are coming to the big screen CNY 2012. The eve of The Lunar New Year, every household in a village is busy preparing to receive the auspicious God Of Fortune (GOF). Ah Beng's father being poor can only give coins and a scruffy GOF, who is in fact, the true and almighty GOF is touched by Ah Beng's father's sincerity and grants him 3 wishes. Not-so-bright security guard Ah Beng is being bullied by a group of rich brats. A mysterious guy comes in and helps Ah Beng. Grateful for his help, Ah Beng invites him into his life and things starts to change around him.

Another local production from MyFM team. Thumb up to their great work. As you all know i always love to watch good local production. It provide a little good value in this movie such as don't smoke (or u'll die LOL), friendship and the important of eat together during reunion dinner.

The movie has a pretty good storyline. The father who manage go to future and watch what change, how his son grown and so on. However u felt it is kinda waste to do not develop more the story between Ah Beng and Salty Fish Lian, since they look more than just a friend in the story. Overall, thumb up for this movie. There are some touched screen and happy ending of course, after the history change.

Awesome! I broke my record, watched 4 movies! Next year shall try 5 movies X)

Chinese New Year Movie Marathon : Mr & Mrs Incredible <神奇俠侶>, All's Well Ends Well 2011 <最强囍事> & I Love Hong Kong <我愛HK開心萬歲>

How's everyone chinese new year? for me i am having fun visiting few friends house around and just had a movie marathon with my love at One Utama. Yeap, like last year, v challenge ourself with 3 movies again this chinese new year. In fact there are too many chinese new year movie i wanna watch heh ;P

First movie we tackle Mr & Mrs Incredible <神奇俠侶>. Been looking on their teaser and trailer for very long and 1 of the movie i looking forward to it!

From the producer of Bodyguards and Assassins and the director who brought you CJ7, comes an action comedy of superhero proportion. This larger-than-life action comedy tells about a retired superhero couple Huan aka the Gazer Warrior (Louis Koo) and Red aka the Aroma Woman (Sandra Ng). One day, a martial arts tournament is being held at their village and a murder case happened. To their surprise, Huan & Red was framed entangled in the murder conspiracy. When they gradually find out the true identity of the mastermind, Huan and Red decide to don their costumes in the name of justice once and for all.

Abit disappointed coz all the teaser and trailer showing me as if hinting me their life as superhero. But it ended up actually showing their life after they retired as superheroes. Neverthless, the story was pretty good and very entertaining! Alot funny joke of coz ;) and woops! Love the Gazer Warrior outfit though abit batman look-a-alike ;P oh BTW, Chapman To made a special appearance as kelefeh XD

Next movie, All's Well Ends Well 2011 <最强囍事>

In the latest instalment of "All's Well Ends Well", Cecilia Cheung acts as a worker in a cosmetic company, who is loved by her boss, played by Louis Koo. And at the same time, a rich man played by Chapman To also falls in love with her. Many hilarious situations happen between the three of them. Meanwhile, Donnie Yen takes up the role of a cosmetics sales clerk who is romantically linked with model Carina Lau Ka Ling's character. Donnie is reported not to have any fight scenes in this movie.

Very disappointed with this movie. It seem All's Well Ends Well series getting worst from each year to each year. Gotta say no solid storyline involve since it focus mainly on 4 main chars, Louis Koo, Donnie Yen, Chapman To and Raymond Wong but it went up kinda messy. No solid relationship built between them. It can like sudden happen they love each other.

However, the only part i love it most was the appearance of Ronald Cheng in this movie! Yes he was not the main cast this time (i believe he can perform better when it comes to comedy movie) but he never failed to entertain me ;)

The movie in d end, of coz All's Well Ends Well! :P

Finally the last movie, I Love Hong Kong <我愛HK開心萬歲>.

A swindler, Long (Eric Tsang), who conned money from all the neighbors of the housing estate 30 years ago, has now become a property tycoon and he promises to pay each of the 30 odd families HK$100 million as compensation. The condition is that all the 30 odd families must each send a representative to return to the housing estate on the eve of Chinese New Year. A mad rush ensues as the old neighbors led by Ng Shun (Tony Leung) and his wife Shun-Soh (Sandra Ng) return to the housing estate on the eve of CNY to ensure they will not miss out on the bonanza!

Probably this is one of the best Chinese New Year movie i watched! Another big production by TVB like last year 72 Tenants of Prosperity, alot big shot TVB artist in the movie. Kinda love the storyline that able to display how harmony and the spirit of helping each other among neighbor. A warm hearted movie :) the dialog i still remember would be "Lei Lou Mei" and "Oh Si" hahaha :P

Tats all CNY movie from me. Pretty tired but worth to be able spend some quality time with my love :)

again, i wish you all HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!! :D
