Winter Solstice Festival

The Dōngzhì Festival or Winter Solstice Festival is one of the most important festivals celebrated by us, Chinese during the Dongzhi solar term (winter solstice) on or around December 22 when sunshine is weakest and daylight shortest.

The Dongzhi Festival is also a time for the family to reunion. One activity that occurs during these get togethers is the making and eating of Tangyuan (湯圓) or balls of glutinuous rice, which symbolize reunion among Chinese.

* My this year Tangyuan (湯圓) *

Well, i guess my mum are slacking this year. She din make the Tang Yuan by her own instead bought the instant ready one from supermarket..LOL..i guess human development nowdays really made human life easier bu tin the same time, the meaning behind the making process might been forgotten..
