Nikon D3200 ISO test and 1080p HD video

I went to play Nikon D3200 on Nikon center last week and get my very first hands on. Nikon D3200 is replacement of Nikon D3100 and it get a very heavy steroid on it because from 14mp it pump up to 24mp. Well, naturally i suspected it has same sensor with Sony Nex-7 since both are 24mp. Did a quick test on ISO performance from 200-12800. Don't ask me where is 100 ISO..i don't know where it went -___-

Just click the thumbnail to get full size. Anyway sorry for the ISO 200 it is blur due to slow shutter speed. Not to mention the lens mount on the D3200 that day are a bad, very bad Nikon 18-105mm lens that has issue on back focusing. Oh btw, I resize the image as much as 50% because 24MP (6016 X 4000) is way too much killing off my image uploaded.

And here the video of Nikon D3200. Just did a quick and random AF speed while testing internal mic. Ignore the random conversation between me and my gf :P

Overall, i feel Nikon D3200 is really good entry lvl DSLR. The ISO is usable until 6400, well thats my preference. Maybe I will grab it as my 2nd video cam since it is good deal. What do you think? Share your opinion with me :)

It have been more than a year since i photoshoot human as my subject. Been reli busy wif my assignment and become one of the lifeless dude :( However, last few weeks i am given opportunity to photoshoot together wif Mike & Ken. Our subject of coz is Jieyi :) Well, this is my second time photoshoot Jieyi ;D

Wake up in the early morning and rush all d way from Damansara to Sekinchan. Why Sekinchan? coz all of us never been there b4 and their paddy field view was awesome! But i guess we are too excited until forgot to check the harvesting time. Yes u r rite, all the field just had a nice "trim" for their hair :(

Despite of that, nothing gonna stop us from shooting. Thanks the sky was kinda blue but in the same time the sun is killing us. Can feel the madness torture on the model as well. The sun cause most of my pics burn kao kao :(

From paddy field, we moving to sea side. The sea side view is not as awesome as i imagine. It was full wif rocks around. And again, sad, no blue sky towards the sea side :(

Gotta admit this time i din do much composition like i alwiz did (especially rule of third tat i love it so much ;P). In the same time din use any strobist equipment except my own attached SB600 + natural light. Oh in addition, those sky seem so blue thanks to CPL filter borrowed from my friend ;)

Nikon D7000 ISO Performance and Video Test

Today I did a Walkalone to Berjaya Time Square. I entered the Nikon Center and *jeng jeng jeng* I saw the gorgeous Nikon D7000!

Well, i did something illegal in tat center and manage to test some ISO performance. Check the image below for noise comparison. Ignore the image on iso 100 coz i hand shake, thus d image blur.

In addition, i am not into video recording person. But i do test some video recording in this gorgeous. Hmmm..i'll say the auto focus (using normal auto focus) not so impressive but hey, is nth negative. I'll take tat auto focus as extra and bonus stuff in this body :)..manual focus still for the win for flexibility

Overall, i kinda like this Nikon D7000. From Digital Rev, it said it was a worth upgrade from D90 to D7000. But mind you, i m still using my D60. But i might consider D7000 over D90 now :)..or if u r considering D300s and D7000, check this out.

Testing Still Live + Strobist

i have been loving to shoot still live image alot especially foods! But i believe it wasn't easy because to make something common into interesting and uncommon. I have been spending my 2nd weeks of semester break and sad to say i only touched my camera once.

Tried to shoot still live using my tripod and my SB-600 as spot light. My SB 600 wasn't act as a spot light, but 3 spot light..how? oh well..ask me personally XP..but i guess it wasn't as successful as having 3 real flash light to trigger in the same time.

First test, having my flash act as Key light, fill light and back light. Subject, my Kamen Rider figures.

Second test, same thing, using my flash act as Key light, fill light and back light. Trying to use a subject that have some reflectivity and this is what i get.

Thirdly, i din get any satisfactory result. Thus i simply use my SB600 act as a spot light from top.

Oh, i desperately need money to gear up myself ;(..but i believe skill come first, gear are extra. Gotta train more. My hols gonna end next week. Means, gonna put aside my passion on photography a while again.

I need ANTIDOTE for this POISON!

I have been poison! POISON! Roarr! A scary POISON that sucks my soul and my money..a POISON that know as, CAMERA! sigh..Never expect i m being so obsessed wif camera..or mayb photography? Since i have start blogging (i think when i was 14 or 15), i been wanted to capture all my moment.

My first history wif camera is a digi cam own by me when i was err..14 or 15 years old i think. Back to that time the highest megapixel was 5 only and i am proud to own a camera called Olympus Camedia C-170, 4.0mp.

Later when the year goes on, technology is improving. Out of sudden during year 2007, my dad suddenly offer himself get me a new digi cam (i guess is bcoz i keep starring on camera when shopping..LOL). Thus he get me an ultra slim digi cam, Olympus FE-230, 7.1 megapixel.

Eventhough i been exposed to camera for few years, i actually doesnt have any knowledge on it. All this while i just tod just "click and snap", as long as pic taken. When pic sucks, v blame camera sucks. Oh well, all this goes until i own myself a..

Nikon D60, my baby konkon, my 1 and only DSLR! not to mention is my very first DSLR after using compact for 7~8 years. So can u tell me, how could a person just "click and snap" could handle a DSLR? The answer is only 1, bcoz of POISON! The photography/camera poison spread rapidly in my body for more than a year since i owned a DSLR.

However, it was also thanks to my Basic Photography subject! No i dun mean thanks to the lecturer, but the subject itself. If the subject doesnt existed in my course, i dun think i'll get a DSLR (*the sub compulsory to use DSLR to submit assignment). From there started, i obsessed myself into photography, or rather again i'll call it poison. Thanks to every1 around me who taught me alot, who practice shooting with me and so on especially when i alwiz went shooting together wif Mike and Ken back to last year. They made me learn more about photography important element.

However it seem like a DSLR is a trend now. Every1 owned it regardless kid (some kid even own a pro level dslr, fml!), teenager or even oldie. It is undeniable that the DSLR price at current market is cheap (for entry lvl)! But, those ppl got DSLR for themself is bcoz they tod DSLR can take better pic? Are they reli gonna start learn photography? or they juz got it bcoz is a TREND or i call it POISON again? well who know? but i still do believe the pic nice onot is depend the photographer itself. Other stuff just limitation.

I have been shooting wif my Nikon D60 + Kit Lens + SB600 for more than 8 months. I just got myself a Tamron 1750 to replace my kit lens early this year and continue shoot wif basic gear. I dun mean my pic nice anyway, coz i still got alot room of improvement :P..but at least i tried to resist myself from this poison, not to get any expensive body (i still love my D60 pic quality) and any fancy lens (i dowan buy liao juz leave there to collect dust n fungus). Well, most of the reason is bcoz i m not rich kid. Oh did i mention tat all my DSLR gear i bought wif my own money? All the hard save from blogging, eat curry puff as lunch and kiamsiaping..LOL

Oh well, sorry for the long complain and bullshit, now back to main topic! Eventhough i got a DSLR and 2 compact, i feel like getting myself another compact to use. My Olympus C-170 seem not functioning well adi but still can use actually and my Olympus FE-230 already belong to my sis. Reason why i need another compact is for casual shooting. Yes i sometime reli lz to carry my dslr around coz it was big, heavy, bulky and burden my shoulder whenever i carry it to wherever i wanna go. It would b perfect for a compact to be carry around especially when hang kai, pak tor, tai hei, sek fan or yum ha cha, sek ko pao coz it was pocketable :P.

Thanks to Kristine, i am eye-ing my eyes on Sony WX1. Reason being is bcoz of the CMOS sensor and Aperture 2.4 been applied on this gorgeous. f2.4, i can shoot nice lowlight pic plus wif d perfect CMOS sensor, the pic would b nice i bet :). But still, the camera so near yet so far. I dun have money to buy T_T

Nikon Centre at Time Square

Tmrw will b official 1 years since i owned my Baby KonKon. Since it was still under warranty today, i went to Tiem Square Nikon Centre for cleaning. It cost RM20 eventhough still under warranty..sigh..but the felor told me without warranty it cost RM60..oh well..is time for me to get a cleaning set and learn how to clean -_-

They told me only need 1 hour for cleaning which i think is quite fast compare to nikon centre at damansara tat took few days. However they called me and ask me collect my camera after 30 min. Which reli surprise me with their efficiency :D

This beginning of the year reli a big impact for me. My wallet is like big pipe that got 1 hole..cause all the water flow out none stop and in large quantities...i'll bertaubat now and will fix the hole and let it flow necessaries T____T

So, may i intro to u, my new lens that gonna replace my current kit lens, Tamron SP AF 17-50MM F/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical [IF] A16NII!! *phewww...*..yes is not VC version ;)

Play this lens few time b4 from my friends and all recommend me this lens. It was also one of the best and hit lens ;). What i like on this lens was the constant f. When zoom in zoom out the f is constant, unlike my kit lens. Unfortunately i tod after zoom in, the f is constant, the exposure will constant as well so i no need adjust the shutter speed..but this lens already prove me wrong =(

My 2010 Wishlist

It have been 3rd week since year 2010. How is everyone life? mine still as awesome as i can since uni not much assign for me yet XP. Nowdays i have been desperate for gadgets (OMFG). Oh yes i am desperate >,<.. Start from mobile phone,the choices in my mind are *jeng jeng jeng*

SE Aino capture my heart when i first look on it!the design reli chun! unfortunately the phone wasn't fully touch screen..the marks have been deducted by me due to that reason T___T...Palm? I wonder any of u heard this brand b4. Even myself heard it for the first time through yingzi. According to her it was a very good product as in they running their own Paln OS. I wanted to get the Palm Pre Plus which only going to release in verizon by this month, 25th..i wonder when malaysia only available this beauty :(..finally, if the above 2 product out from my choice, i want Nokia N97 Mini! This phone won my heart over as well when it first time release! As you can see, i am required for full touch screen phone and i gonna use is as heavy multimedia used especially internet connection!

Why not apple iphone or blackberry? not interested =P..and too expensive for me for iphone and blackberry keypad too small for a huge thumb like me :(

Next, i wanted to upgrade my dslr body. Currently the only nikon body i can afford is D90. It have been 2 years in market and it's pricing still d same!

However, rumors D90 replacement will out this year (either February or August). According to Thom Hogan, it will announced on August 2010, and probably called a D8000 in order to conform to Nikon's new naming conventions. So, what changes from a D90?
- A new sensor (e.g. not 12mp Sony). What sensor, I'm not sure
- A new focus sensor, likely a simplified derivative of the D300's
- Yep, more video capabilities (sensing a theme?)

D8000 VS D90 hmmm..i'll get more review 1st before getting it. Tats mean i only upgrade it when d replacement out. Seem like not any soon anyway..money matter :(

In addition, i wanna get Canon S90 as my secondary camera!! sometime i reli lz to grab my dslr to go yumcha or movie screening...unfortunately this cam too expensive =(
