I am happy spending time with you though just one month time. Now u r leaving me..i am sad..i am heartbroken. I no longer can see u everyday..I no longer can grab u with my arm...I no longer can touch you...I no longer can press you again and forever..
I have a confession...I LOVE Digi Blackberry Curve 8520!! Digi is really awesome yo! Their awesomeness cause me ditched away Maxis 2 years ago. I believe Digi alwiz come out the most affordable package to every consumer. I guess that's one of the reason why kids nowday so rich to own an iphone XP..
After doing few blog post regarding Digi Blackberry Curve 8520 (to refresh ur brain click here, here, here,here and here), i hope i could help solved the problem for those who in confusion about BB best package or BB function.
From my previous post regarding DG Blackberry Smart Plan, Digi offered the cheapest package and affordable to everyone. The data plan just as low as RM58/month and Zero Commitment on call plan! Where you gonna find this package from other Telco? NO WAY MAN!
If you dun believe, check the post i made about the comparison Telco that deal with Blackberry Curve 8520 in Malaysia. I guarantee you WOW when u look on package offered by Digi and the internet connection speed!!
Throughout the one month experience with my BB, i fell in love with the apps and function. One of the most famous apps is Blackberry Messenger! This apps cause me lz move to computer and msn instead laid on bed and do it with my BB..not to mention ubertwitter that allow me to tweet where i am without needing a huge desktop or laptop! Check out here for more awesome apps offered by BB :D
With all this reason i stated above, i cant find a reason why i hate my Blackberry. Unlike other Telco in Malaysia, the Telco (Digi) i currently using is offered alot benefits for consumer. Which make us Happy-Happy like Mc Donald logo yo!
For those who really wanted to get Blackberry, no need to hesitate! Digi is the best choice for you! As the slogan, DIGI ALWAYS THE SMARTEST CHOICE! So, be a smart consumer and go for Digi :D
* DIGI BLACKBERRY CURVE 8520! I'VE FOUND MY STYLE & MY CURVE. HAVE YOU? *
p/s sadly today might the last day i spend time with my Blackberry Curve 8520...farewell buddy T__T
Well, recently alot friend of mine wanted to get BlackBerry as in now BB had became a very influential device especially among businessman and facebook/twitter freak like me. To be honest i kinda like this device since it is small, pocketable and convenience to bring to everywhere.
Alright, i gonna focus mainly on Blackberry Curve 8520 price(RRP) offer by Telco, Data Plan and speed of each Telco. Lets start with the price and data plan offer by each Telco :)
Basically, if you buy BB 8520 from Telco, u r required to involve in 12 or 24 months commitment on their data plan and call plan.
For Celcom, u can get BB 8520 with RM788 + RM50 call plan for 12 months or RM588 + RM250 call plan for 12 months. For your information, Celcom offer 3 types of data plan which are Basic Plan (RM38), Blackberry® Advance (2.5G) (RM68) and Blackberry® Advance (3G) (RM98). All are monthly basis obviously XP. So the Basic Plan is the cheapest but the data usage up to 5 MB (additional data charged PPU at RM0.10/10kb). Well, is perfect for those who dun surf net often. But then what's d point u get BB if u dun use d internet often? rite? :P..so cut the craps and assuming u r internet freak and need internet 24 hours or u'll bang ur head to d wall. Since BB 8520 running on EDGE connection, so no point getting Blackberry® Advance (3G) plan. U pray pray until die also wun get 3G connection on BB 8520 XP..so the best plan for unlimited internet usage are Blackberry® Advance (2.5G) *FYI, 2.5G = EDGE*. Well assuming u r student, d best combination package u'll get from Celcom is RM50 (call plan) + RM68 (Data plan) = RM118/months or if u r businessman and call more than u eat rice, then go ahead get RM250 call plan (data plan are free!).
Next is Digi. My word might be abit unfair for other Telco but Digi has really done a great job for consumer. Their plan is affordable even for a poor student like me :). Digi has designed a special plan for BB user only which known as DG Smart Plan for BlackBerry. You can get BB 8520 with RM899 for 12 months plan commitment or RM549 for 24 months. Eh? What about the call plan? If you refer to my past post, i mentioned before that there will b zero commitment! I repeat! ZERO COMMITMENT for call and SMS. In other words, what you call and sms is what u gonna pay for. The rate is very cheap and reasonable :). Pls refer to this post to figure out. The best part is, Digi offered the one and only data plan for BB user which is RM58 Unlimited! Only RM58 u can surf web wherever you like for 24 hours! So the monthly payment gonna be fair and square to all category regardless u r business, student, Prime Minister or whoever u r which is RM58 + (Pay for what you use to call and sms). It is perfect if u dun call and sms much. But dun worry! If you are businessman and call/sms alot, Digi got special promotion for that! When end of d month ur bill come and ur total are RM200 and above, no worry and be happy! You no need to pay ur Data Plan for that month! So you just need to pay ur call/sms fees only :)..cool? Well, if ur total bill are in between RM100 - RM199.99, u'll have 25% off for your data plan. Which is 75/100 X Rm58 = RM43.50..Make it into simple math, it gonna be RM43.50 + ur call/sms usage. Cool rite? :D
Finally, Maxis Blackberry plan! There are 4 category for Maxis BlackBerry plan which u can get BB 8520 with RM799 + RM80 (call plan) for 24 months or RM899 + RM80 (call plan) for 12 months and for those who wan higher call plan, RM488 + RM150 (call plan) for 24 months or RM799 + RM150 (call plan) for 12 months. Maxis offer 3 types of data plan which are Entry (RM40), Standard (RM55) and Unlimited (RM120). Fuahh! I gotta say their data plan for unlimited is very expensive. I rather spend my time in home for streamyx >,<...Obviously my chart above already shown how much u gonna pay monthly if u use Unlimited Data plan. RM80 + RM120 = RM200 and RM150 + RM120 = RM270. I gotta say is more expensive than Celcom..or Mayb Digi if u r not call/sms freak XD..
After comparing the price, i believe some of you might think "aiya, Digi sucks la! the line sure slow like the duck 1", "Woohoo Maxis internet speed is reliable eventhough is expensive" or "Celcom is main seller for BB wor, sure good 1 la d internet speed". Well, lets compare the internet speed between this 3 telco.
* Adapted from Digi. If too small click here to view *
Digi RM58 Unlimited average speed is 700kb/s with 3GB quota only. Well no worry, is UNLIMITED PEEP! U wun have extra charge eventhough u hit and over the quota. Just that the average speed will drop (to 128kb/s i think..correct me if i m wrong). Meanwhile, Celcom RM68 Unlimited average speed is 384kb/s with 5GB quota (speed will drop also after hit d quota). For Maxis the RM120 Unlimited is 3.8mb/s speed (Not shown in chart..).
Lets summarize all the package offer by this 3 Telco. You have to pay for Celcom monthly RM118 or RM250, RM58 + RM(usage for call/SMS) for Digi and RM200 or RM270 for Maxis. So the cheapest most likely going to be Digi. Or mayb Celcom if you r heavy user for call/sms especially businessman. But still, with Digi Zero Commitment call, you only need to pay 15/min. To reach RM250 usage of call (assuming ur bill is RM308 and u got RM58 discount for ur data plan, thus ur bill only RM250), u need make approximately 28 hours call to reach RM250 call usage. So, calculate urself did ya make that much call? For maxis, forget about it if u r student, get Digi plan for yaself :P..
However in term of internet speed, RM120 Maxis plan overpowered with 3.8mb/s. WOW! But hey pls remember, BB 8520 only support EDGE (2.5G). In addition, it only support HTML 2.0 (correct me if i m wrong) where the web browser kenot support full web version like our computer. Not to mention it doesnt support flash. Thus the web most likely is mobile web which only size not more than 1mb. So why bother get high speed by paying more? I rather get RM58 from Digi comparing with Celcom RM68. Digi is cheaper than Celcom RM10 and the speed is faster than Celcom. Cool? :D
As conclusion, i would said Digi got the best and cheap plan for every profession while Celcom is more toward to businessman profession. Maxis? uhhh...for rich kid only i assume..XD
I hope my comparison could help u decide what plan and telco u gonna get for BlackBerry. Currently i am using Digi BlackBerry Unlimited Plan and i very satisfy with it. I gotta use it everywhere i am. Not to mention i can lean on my bed while watching youtube..ahh Heaven! hahahaha
In conjunction of new model launch by Digi, BlackBerry Bold 2, 9700, Digi was having a roadshow from 3-7 March 2010. Well i am going there with Yvonne coz she is getting her very first BB hands on!
* Alot ppl yo *
Since it was roadshow, of coz alot crazy deal around! BB Bold 2 only as low as RM1299 with 24 months data plan registration. But still it worth the penny in ur pocket if u r not those ppl who change phone often ;P.
* BB Bold 2 *
Meanwhile, BB Curve 8520 was as low as RM549 with 24 months data plan and RM899 with 12 months data plan. Well isn't it cheap? Yvonne dun have money, or else she might bump to Bold 2 XP. So yea, she is getting Curve 8520, d model i currently using for almost a month :D
* BB Curve 8520 *
Well, so far i m not bored with my BB yet. I never let it go from my palm even a single day especially when i am outside where i do check my mail, facebook & twitter often. A little small device do really make my life more convenience.
Though Digi is promoting Bold 2 and everyone went crazy about it, however for me 8520 function is more than enough for me. Why? Is actually depend what ur requirement on d phone and not what d phone wan for u. Bold 2 considered as high end model, thus obviously is better 8520. I would like to make rough comparison in between Bold 2 and Curve so that you can decide which model you should go on.
* The size are exactly the same. But Bold2 is heavier *
Literally, Bold 2 support 3G while Curve support EDGE connection only. That doesnt matter for some people eventhough using EDGE if they only surf light web, use apps such as facebook & email. Unless u surf heavy web such as blog, u need 3g connection of coz :). In addition for those who love to take pic, bold 2 is perfect for u coz it built with 3.2mp cam with built in LED flash (and built in Image Stabilization) while curve just only 2mp camera, without flash. In addition, Bold 2 support GPS (support navigation if i not mistaken) while Curve just support map that can search for location, not direction. In term of price, obviously BB curve are cheaper =P..Other than that, the phone are mostly similar. For further comparison, click here to check it out :)
Too be honest, i believe now there are 3 main BB model that grab everyone attention eyes which are 8520, 9550 & 9700. All this 3 model been sell respectively by 3 main telco in malaysia which are Digi, Maxis & Celcom (the mail dealer). However which telco is d best? which reli worth ur penny? I'll cover this in next post :P
Been using BB Curve 8520 for almost 2 weeks and i manage to discover there are alot things i can do with this small device on my palm! First of all is about the convenience apps by blackberry. What make me love more on this little thingy is none other than tweet nonestop! oh yes u can call me a twitter addict but i just love to show off and let others know what i am doing everytime, anytime and everywhere =P.
UberTwitter is a full featured location aware Twitter client which supports all of the features of Twitter as well as advanced capabilities such as: photo integration, embeded videos in tweets, tweet shrinking, URL shortening, twitter lists, changing your twitter avatar, and a plethora of other features.
With Ubertwitter, thats what i have been doing the whole day during CNY when i am Seremban. I been facing BB for whole day and tweet none stop.
* Ubertwitter..just like tweetdeck! awesomeness! *
Besides that, i am kinda of facebook addict. I love to see what my friends update regardless their status or photo. Thanks to BB Facebook apps, i can do it anytime and everywhere as long as this small things on my palm :D
Stay on top of your social life with Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones. This free application makes Facebook services - like sending messages, poking friends, writing wall posts, inviting friends to join and uploading photos - available on the go! Take Facebook wherever life takes you and don't miss a beat!
Guess what? You can also actually reply facebook comment via emails! What you need to do is just use ur beautiful finger/thumb and press on reply button from ur facebook email notification. Convenience rite? :D
* Facebook apps *
Finally, this was something really new for me which is Blackberry Messenger (or know as BBM). This is the only apps features in BB and none other handphone could do it.
Get into BlackBerry® Messenger and express yourself – your way. Share your pin or unique barcode to connect with friends anywhere, anytime. Take comfort in knowing your friends are only a BlackBerry® Messenger message away whether you want to make plans for the night or ask a quick question. Chat and share funny stories, pictures, videos and more with individual contacts or groups of friends instantly. Stay in touch like never before with BlackBerry® Messenger
Does it sound like MSN like you? Yes it was exactly almost the same thing. What attracted me the most is the barcode function, one of the method to add ur friend to ur list. The best thing is, with BBM, u can message ur friend anytime (like SMS) with free of charge yo!
* BBM *
* The Barcode *
* U can manage ur contact just like MSN *
I would like to thanks for Digi and Nuffnang again for giving me such opportunity to test on this awesome device. Not to mention Digi was actually provided a very consistence and stable services for consumer.
Digi does not promise in high speed of connection, but it promised in term of consistence coverage. Now with Digi, wherever u go there will b coverage. Even in Seremban when i am there for CNY. The coverage was still strong except inside Jusco Seremban 2 where there is d only place i facing SOS coverage..LOL
* SOS = no line..LOL *
However in terms of Digi network quality, i gotta said is superb. Coverage is everywhere, thus the quality is there as well. During this whole 2 weeks, i never face any drop call and i manage to happily end the conversation without any problem. In addition, the call connect immediately to the person. Other than that, eventhough BB only run EDGE connection, but it was good and fast enough for simple web that required less than 10kb.
Overall, the combination of BB and Digi was awesome! With the awesome BB apps and function plus the coverage and services provided by Digi, it was a GREAT DUO! :D..i definitely wan to hands on this phone for real!
As everyone know, i received a blackberry from Digi & Nuffnang last 2 weeks together with DG Smart Plan for Blackberry. So what is DG Smart Plan for Blackberry thingy means?
Is the pic above give u clear idea what is it about? If not continue read below what is it about XP..I believe u all know what it means by unlimited internet where u just need to pay RM58/month, u get to enjoy unlimited email, IM, Facebook, Twitter and etc. Cheap rite compare to other telco? =D. Meanwhile, it is zero commitment for call and sms but what u use is what u pay. Here are the rate plan and charges for call and sms.
I m sure the rate are affordable to everyone even for a student like me :). In addition, the more u use, the more u save! Thanks to this plan, whoever digi user totaled bill usage for a month more than RM200, the Blackberry unlimited will b FREE! Free yo!! What if not more than RM200? Dun be disappoint. If ur bill was in between RM100-RM199.99, u'll get 25% discount for the Blackberry unlimited.
Isn't DG Smart Plan cool for all Blackberry user? It's time to change to Digi for better life :)
Last night, i am given a chance by Digi & Nuffnang to test out..or to be exact, to bring back a Blackberry Curve 8520 for 4 weeks to test it out. Honestly, all this while I have 1 bad impression on Blackberry..which is from d design aspect. I never like the design XP..hope all BB user dun hate me for this =(
* The Curve 8520 box *
* Berry in da box *
* Full set of Blackberry Curve 8520 *
The Blackberry set given to me was full set. It came together with a 2GB micro SD card and a Digi sim that already activated Digi Unlimited Internet and RM50 voice call. Last night when i first hold the BB, my impression towards it totally change (ok i admit it was my first time touch BB phone XD). The size not as big as i expected. It was exactly fit in my palm (109 x 60 x 13.9 mm) and the weight (106g) is way lighter than my current phone (Nokia N900 181g but SE G900 99g XP).
* Curve 8520 *
* Manage to fully grab it wif my palm *
* Love the QWERTY keypad design. Unfortunately d buttons too hard and small for my fat thumb *
Well, i have tested the Digi telco Internet services wif bb and it was excellent perfect though it just using EDGE connection. Somehow i wish this phone got 3G so tat can surf web faster XP..i tried stream youtube video but failed. I wonder is d setting problem or d network itself. Will figure it out soon :)
* Like d way d CURVE words engraved on the back *
Well, doesnt play much wif this BB since i just got it last night and currently i m bz wif my assign. As well bz preparing for CNY XP..will tested it out more in terms of Digi services (internet connection, voice call, network coverage) and the function in BB.
Have you heard of Blackberry? What? is a fruit?? No no that's Blueberry, not Blackberry! The BlackBerry is a smartphone that is widely used in the enterprise for its wireless email handling capability. Thus, last sat, i went to participated in XPAX Blackberry Curve 8520 launch at Republic, Sunway. Courtesy to Nuffnang for the invitation.
On that day itself, Blackberry Curve 8520 was sold for d price as low as RM888, where original price was RM1188. Such a good deal rite =D...i would have got it if i got money =(...
Anyway, bloggers whose under Nuffnang invitation got themself a VVIP passes for this event. By accessing VVIP pass, we are given free flow of Tiger Beer & Black Label as well =P...The event started around 8pm with a tone of blast performances such as Shawn Lee, DJ Lapsap, Joe Flizzow & others.
* My VVIP passes *
* WE ARE ON AIR!! WOOOopsss! *
* The Handsome Bartender *
She is our MC of the night
* Our Emcee *
The performances started with Shawn Lee, known as human beatbox. Why? ask his voice why! It is my first time in life watching human beatbox in life. He reli impressed me with his voice although his body smaller than me...Oh well, if you wanna see his performance in video, click here and here for the link (courtesy of Sam for the video).
The next performances was Joe Flizzow! He is great in terms of rap and hip hop singing together with his partner, Malique and dance around the stage. He rocks every1 at that night wif his voices and dances.
* Joe Flizzow *
* "And put ur hands up!" *
* His patner, Malique *
* I realise Joe wearing purple shoe. Semangat XPAX! *
* Look at his dancer..hahaha *
* For some reason i love the lighting on top the roof *
* Kamen dancer! *
* And thats whole crew for his performances *
And after Joe Flizzow performances, they decided to had a lucky draw for once to give out Blackberry Curve 8520. Two girls was selected for the lucky draw and they required to compete wif each others by rapping a song. Obviously the best rapper is winner, no? And it was judge by Joe Flizzow. And the winner is the Blue shirt girl. Wow, i guess ppl who in small size reli can rap well..LOL
* Fighting to won a blackberry *
After that, Shawn appeared again for the 2nd times and performing his human beatbox! Seriously, i wun get bored wif his voice. Plus his bass rocks d night and speaker around us. Thumb up to him!
Next performances was by Arabyrd. As i recall d 1st time i knew and met her was in Juice Anniversary event last few months. Well, she is great too in terms of dancing and singing. In middle of her performances, there are other performance too.
* Arabyrd *
* Other performance *
* Arabyrd in difference outfit *
After that, DJ Lapsap (WARNING, Not Garbage) appeared and spin his music all around the night. Seriously his music was rocks throughout the whole night.
* DJ Lapsap *
* Spin spin! Rock Rock! *
Before the event came to the climax, there are 2nd lucky draw and this time there's a guy who won himself 2 Blackberry Curve 8520. Such as lucky winner!! I am so jealous of him =(..but anyway, he paid a great amount to got the another 2 free phone. FYI, he bought 9 Blackberry on that day itself to his employees.
* I am jealous of this uncle... *
So, here come a question across my mind. Why do i envy and jealous of people having a XPAX Blackberry Curve 8520? Why do i need it in my life? SIMPLE! Because the XPAX Blackberry Curve 8520 GOT MY NAME, alphabet J for Jackie on the keypad!!!
* J ROCKSSSS! HAhahaha *
ok just jk, hahaha..the main reason was because of COMMUNICATION! It is one of the importance things in our life nowadays and how big the role it is in our life. If not why our mobile phone today received such a great revolution compare to last time? Event my sister who just 15 already started to learn how to use computer since 2 years ago to stay connect with her friends and others relative of mine at overseas.
* My sister using computer *
I got a phone which is Nokia L'Armor series (forgot d model num) which i bought it for 2nd hand last time. Practically, i used the phone in order to stay connect with the 1 i love. Yes u got it who is her =). However, i been cheated when i bought this phone. The keypad 4, which is also know as GHI was very hard to press. i need use full strength to press it. So it gave me hard time alwiz whenever i SMSed and Called my dear..=(
* My Nokia L'Armor with my gf pics on the wallpaper *
* The GHI, 4 keypad got prob =( *
* I hate pressing tat keypad... *
Plus, the current phone i having now no 3G and Wifi. I cant on9 anywhere i like. I know i can on9 if i m bringing a laptop but u cant expect me to having it on me 24 hours. Imagine a big giant thick like bloody hell devices was stick on ur hand 24 hours..convenience? no right? So obvious wif XPAX Blackberry Curve 8520 which as slim as 13.9mm could easily carried in my palm and pocket. In addition i can on9 everywhere (with BlackBerry Internet Service or Wifi) i like and i able to stay contact with my friends. I can access to Twitter, Facebook, Google and even Nuffnang web in order to update myself with the latest info or news!
* I can browse any kind of networking social web! *
In addition, Blackberry Curve 8520 supported memory up to 16GB! Thats damn huge for me! I can store alot of song and pic in the phone. I can even store my love pic and make it as the phone wallpaper. Not to mention pics wif friends during the Xberry Party.
* My angle in d wallpaper or theme *
* Store my valuable photo in d phone *
Not to forget, XPAX was offering a best deal to us as low as RM1 per day (Blackberry social package) for UNLIMITED access to social application such as facebook, google and instant messenger such as yahoo messenger, msn messenger as more!
