Hakata Ippudo Ramen @ Pavilion, KL and Tai Lei Loi Kei @ Hutong, Lot 10

Every weekend seem like sinful day for me because I am surrounded by good foods and food companions. Last 2 weeks I went to try out Hakata Ippudo ramen since it is a hype now and deary been really wanna try it. Ken, Zhao, Jacq, Alex, Sophia and Karwei joining us for the dinner. Finally the ffk godness Sophia is free for meet up :P

Since we have more people, we could order more foods. I guess I had abit culture shock that night because the green tea there wasn't refillable. A pot of tea just good enough for 2 cup of glass. We
gotta drink considerately ;/

Nevertheless, check out the appetizer we had.

* Avocado and Shrimp Wasabi Mayo RM13 *
* Curry Cheese Haru Maki RM10 *
* Pork Bun RM7 *

The Avocado and Shrimp Wasabi Mayo is very nice. The prawn is pretty fresh and nice to chew. Nothing to shout at Curry Cheese Haru Maki since is actually taste like curry puff to me. Can't detect any cheese taste. Finally the all time favorite, Pork Bun! Probably this is one of the best pork bun I ever had. The meat is so juicy and their sauce is awesome! Too bad it is too small :(

Finally is the ramen time! They had three signature which are Ippudo Original Tonkotsu (Shiromaru), Ippudo Original Tonkatsu (Akamaru) and Ippudo Spicy Tonkatsu (Karaka). Each signature will have another four difference type of ramen which basically same thing except one come with nothing, one with extra tamago, one with extra char siu and the finally one is everything inside. Well, we call that ultimate and most of us actually ordered that. It is worth to mention too they have three type of noodle - soft, medium and hard.

* Shiromaru Special RM34 *
* Akamaru Special RM36 *
* Karaka Special RM36 *

I got myself Shiromaru Special. On my first sip of the soup it totally blow my mind away. This is probably the most tastier and flavored tonkatsu (pork soup) I ever had. Though it is actually salty but I can bear it and finish up the soup on the bowl. The cha siu they had is slightly difference from the pork bun I had earlier. Noodle is elastic enough to chew and bite. I can't taste much the difference between Shiromaru and Akamaru except Akamaru had special sauce addition and taste less saltier and minimal spicy. Didn't get to try out the Karaka but according to deary it is spicy and she like it.

Total bill RM400 for 8 of us. Fuhh finally I am spending over Rm30 for a bowl of noodle. Worth it? Yes since it really taste good but I wouldn't have such luxury meal as frequent. Once in a a while is ok :)

Well while we all are actually thirsty because of the noodle and none refillable green tea, we decided to drop by to Lot 10 for a drink at Hutong while few of us wanna try out the just-opened-not-long- Tai Lei Loi Kei. They are famous for pork chop bun in Macau and this is their first outlet in Malaysia.

There are too many to choose fromt heir menu but in the end I decided to get a set which come with Signature Pork Chop Bun and a drink that cost RM12.50. In addition of RM3.00, I got myself a Tangy Mango Pudding with Longan.

* Signature Pork Bun RM11.20 (ala carte) *

After so much hype of the pork chop bun, I actually feel abit disappointed. It just a pork chop with a bun on it. No special sauce or nothing. Probably the signature is sauce-less. The pork chop is pretty dry and salty. Not the best, really. Alex told me there are better pork chop bun in Macau which I must try when I go there. I am looking forward to it on my coming HK trip on July.

* Tangy Mango Pudding with Longan *

The dessert? Nothing to shout. Just nice :)

Overall, a very sinful dinner with the gang but it is nice bonding session with them :)

S'mores @ The Sphere

Saw a very affordable and tempting offer at groupon, immediately I asked few of friends from Porky Rocky group chat from whatsapp to join me dinner. It is a Pork Platter + Tiger Beer for up to 8 People at for RM130 only deal! So yea, the meal was nothing but just pork.

First time discovered S'more and it was located at The Sphere, Jalan Kerinchi. It is easy to spot once you turn into Jalan Kerinchi and drive straight. First impression to S'more interior, it is just nice place for leisure dining with friends and family. Not over-dim lighting is perfect too (yea i got bad eye sight).

Here are the menu of our foods.

Unfortunately only 4 tiger beers for 8 people, dafuq

And here, all our foods are served in one plate.

The portion look very little for all of us big eaters actually. Shall buy 2 deal instead sigh but then again, looking all the pork it is obviously very sinful. So that ourself feel better, 8 of us just finished up the whole plate. Maybe it will just nice if each of us got some rice or noodle to company.

* Pork Knuckle *

Pork Knuckle is pretty dry and quite alot of fat underneath the skin. Need the dip in the sauce to eat or else I really dunno how to chew the meat. However, it wasn't taste that bad except the meat lacked of some tenderness.

* Pork Ribs *

Pork ribs was ok but not big and meaty enough. Such a waste sigh

* Potato Salad & Pork Belly at the back *

Nothing to shout on the potato salad. It taste just nice. Meanwhile the Pork Belly is awesomely oily and fat. Super sinful to eat it.

* Three Sausages *

They are three types of german sausages but I have no idea which 1 is which. To be fair, three of them taste good. Better if dip with the sauces.

Finish up the meal, manage to stay there for few hours before we decided to call it a day. I think it is pretty nice place to dining. Shall bring my gf here again next time to try other stuff :)

Betty Midwest Kitchen @ Aman Suria

After for so long, finally I am getting pork burger to eat again! Weee

Ok that's my emo face waiting for my food. I though of just showing my face in case you all miss me.. What? No? uhh ok..back to food :(

Been wanting to try this long time ago since alot people said it actually better than Andes BYO. The shop was located at Aman Suria, same place with Andes BYO and located at another end of the shop lot.

* Dog Food RM10 *

As the starter, I ordered Dog Food! No, not the food that dog eat but is actually fries drenched in gravy, topped with cheese and oven cooked. Trust me, it tasted so good that cheese lover gonna lick it till clean! The taste is actually more heavy on cheese side and thus, both me and my gf love it so much.

* Pull-pork Burger RM12 *

Deary ordered Pulled-pork burger for herself. Shredded or 'pulled' pork which has been slow-roasted and braised in our special sauce in-between a burger bun, served with our house coleslaw and fries.

* Jucy Lucy RM15 *

Finally I got myself the famous Jucy Lucy Pork burger - Hamburger with melted cheese core inside the grilled beef and pork pattie, lettuce, tomato and onion relish served on a basket of fries. I pretty love it but I felt the cheese inside the patty wasn't as good as Andes BYO. The burger also contains one of the vegetable that I don't like. Other than that, the pork patty has very heavy pork smell. For a lover like me I doesn't mind at all but my gf kinda get disturb by it.

Overall, pretty cool dining place with reasonable price. My favourite food of the day gotta be Dog Food! Other than that, there are more alternate choices for good pork burger.

Well, courtesy to Eric I get to join the awesome dinner after whole day working. Been alays wanted to try Dirty Nelly's and finally I am given a chance to do so.

What most awesome was all of us are given a chance to taste all food in their menu..Yay! Pork heaven! All the way from starter to soup and to main course! Really sinful yet happy dinner.

* Cock-A-Leekie *

Cock-A-Leekie Soup is a traditional winter warmer, as the name itself suggests, chicken and leaks are the main ingredients along with prunes. It came with bread as well.

* Yellow Vanilla *

Yellow Vanilla basically is a roasted pumpkin & squash then blitz to creaminess with nutmeg and topped with vanilla sour cream. It served with bread also. This soup is my personal favourite!

* British Tomato *

British Tomato is homemade tomato cooked with vegetable, chicken stock and pork bacon. A must try as recommended in the menu.

* Crab Cakes RM21 *

For starter, we were served Crab Cakes. It is a mixture between white and brown crab meat with a medley of other complemented ingredients. Obviously, it is deep fried and served with homemade tartar sauce. I highly recommended this! :D

* Caesar Salad *

Nothing to shout about the Caesar Salad. It has most what a salad should have with additional pork bacon, boiled quail eggs, bread croutons toasted and special Caesar dressing.

* Gammon Steak with Pineapple & Fried Duck Egg RM45 *

Gammon Steak with Pineapple & Fried Duck Egg served with grilled gammon steak and caramelized pineapple make a classic pairing. Of course, fried duck egg was added to enhance the taste.

* Shepherd's Pie RM38 *
* inside the pie *

Shepherd's Pie is traditional farmer's minched lamb topped with mashed potato and sealed underneath a golden crispy puff pastry.

* Pork or Beef Escalopes RM35 *

Pork or Beef Escalopes is simply yet tasty meal. Delicately flavored pork or beef meat, pan fried to absolute deliciousness and served with boiled asparagus and creamed mushroom sauce.

Rich and fatty pork belly exquisitely braised with a medley of spices served with steamed vegetables and heraty onion and apple sauce - this is Nelly's Belly for you!

* Beef Cobbler with Scones RM35 *

Beef Cobbler with Scones is light and fluffy on the top, rich and tender at the bottom. The beef was stew with cheesy topping.

* Sausage with Mustard Mash & Sweet Sour Red Pepper RM41 *

Sausage with Mustard Mash & Sweet Sour Red Pepper is another version of Bangers and Mash. The Jumbo pork sausages is boiled then grilled. Served with mustard mash and sweet sour red pepper.

* Dirty Nelly's RM53 *

Dirty Nelly's is signature dish! Trio of Pork, Beef and Lamb meat combination to make this wicked patty (300g weight). Buried generously in the patty with English cheddar and Jalapeno Peppers. Grilled and tucked in between sesame seed bun with Mustard Mash topping. Grilled beacon and duck eggs sunny side-up, accompanied by a bowl of chili and crispy white baits.

Overall, a very satisfactory dinner. I can't tell you which main course are nice. All of them are equally good! Just head to Dirty Nelly's and pick one, definitely won't disappointed a pork lover like me!

Wallop Pork Burger @ SS2, Chow Yang

As usual, whenever there is pork related food, i will definitively run to there and try. Heard this shop long ago however no chance to try yet. Finally, I am given a chance to try it with Betina on last sunday, after we came back from Genting Highland ;)

Pretty spacious environment. Simple yet good. Normal ambient light, nothing fancy. However i think it is kinda quite. Not to mention when people talk, it is really loud and like market.

Wallop Pork Burger claimed that all their pork patties are made by fresh and premium meat. Their patties also grilled-oil free, no preservatives or coloring were used. So i assumed it is healthy?

* With our hot green tea, RM2.50 each *

So, both me and Betina ordered Sergeant Wallop and Hot Boy.

* Sergeant Wallop *

* with extra Grilled Bacon *

Sergeant Wallop had triple patty grilled. It also came with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and mayonnaise served with fluffy and lightly buttered grilled buns. It actually tasted quite good. No overflow sauce, it make me able to taste the patties very much. I add additonal grill bacon for my set and it cost RM12.80 + RM1.30.

* Hot Boy *

* With extra mushrooms and grilled bacon *

Betina got herself a Hot Boy with extra topping - Mushrooms and grilled bacon. It cost RM10.80 + RM1.10 + RM1.30 respectively. Hot Boy was named that way because it is hot! Both patties are come with spicy chillies inside. According to Betina she couldn't take they spiciness and it cause her unable to taste anything else except spicy. Guess it is really killing her taste bud.

Overall, I think it is a good and recommended pork burger, However portion might too small for a big eater like me. Of course, no fear. It allowed you to customized your own burger. So just go ahead add additional stuff until you're satisfy ;)

Char Siu @ Full Glory Restaurant & Cafe

It has been pretty sinful week for me this few days. Bat Kut Teh, Pork burger, pork mee and now, Char siu (barbecue pork) was in my eating list. Since i started to work, I started to discover awesome food nearby area. One of them is this restaurant, Full Glory Restaurant & Cafe at Kota Damansara, same row with the famous Hokkien Mee.

Well, pretty much like normal shop, it has chicken, duck, char siu and siu yuk (roasted pork) to choose together with option mee or rice. They have other food including fish too (which i never try before).

* 2 Pin - Char Siu & Roasted Duck with mee RM8.80 *

Nevertheless, what i love this shop most is their Char Siu. This is one of the best char siu i ever taste. The char siu sauce is sweet but not too sweet too. The meat is crystal clear and just nice enough to chew.

* 2 Pin - Char Siu & Roasted Duck with rice RM8.80 *

Went to have lunch with Pennie and Ken the other day and of course, i recommended the char siu to them. Both of them do agree it is nice but of course, there is always a higher mountain than this. Ken said there is a better char siu at kepong.

* Char siu close up! Yes it is sinful... *

Now, i gotta wait for the next trip with the gang to kepong to try out the char siu! Meanwhile, char siu from Full Glory is highly recommended for Kota Damansara area ;)
