Christmas Lunch - Six Inch Cafe @ Setapak PV 128

Merry Christmas everyone! Well aren't we glad that the world hasn't end and we are still alive to looking forwards for new year and 2013. Nevertheless, it is Christmas today and being a guy who afraid of jam, I just decided to stay at home and rest my ass. At least, until le Betina came around for lunch together.

Six Inch Cafe just opened in Setapak few days ago. Being curious and new toilet bowl (san si hang), both me and le Betina tried this as our Christmas lunch. Well, I pretty love the open air concept at first but dining inside during lunch time is pure hot and easily sweat since they dun have air cond and only fans.

* Three Layer Milk Tea RM4.70 *

First thing first, the cafe was pretty crowded. No strange since it was lunch time and deep inside my heart I hope it is nice place to eat that's why so many people. However the waiter seem busy walking around and no time to entertained us. We tried to stop 1 of the waiter to enquiries the seat on upstair and they just walk pass by us as if we are invisible. Being abit pissed off, le betina and I decided to get our own seat at downstair and still, no waiter come around to serve us the menu despite they have enough man power. Some are just standing around the counter and act as statue. Finally we got our menu after we asked one of the waiter who happen to pass by our seat with 4 menus on his hand and he was ushering other people to their seat. DAFUQ! WHY YOU NO USHER ME!

* Ambra Juice RM5.90 *

Later both of me and Betina gotta wait more than 30 minute before out food are served. It took around 50 minites for mine and 105 minutes for le Betina. Honestly I don't realize time passed so fast since I am busy playing games on my phone until I recheck my check in time in my four square when my food come. Is it so hard to cook Chicken Maryland and Cheese Baked Spaghetti? There is a point we tried to raise hand for enquiries of our food and those waiters seem ignore us. Betina went to counter there and asked but got ignored.

* Chicken Maryland RM 17.90 *

So I ordered Chicken Maryland. Yea my first time seeing Chicken Maryland being served with hot dog and egg. No doubt the portion is big and justified the price. Not to mention it came with black pepper sauce. No complain on the salad however the fries was pretty hard to chew and not salty. It is so hard that I decided to pour the black pepper sauce on the fries instead and the black pepper sauce is sucks. It is too watery and tasteless. Chicken Maryland itself is alright. Crispy on the skin and the meat still moist enough.

* Cheese Baked Spaghetti with Ham RM 14.90 *

Next le Betina Cheese Baked Spaghetti with Ham. This spaghetti is totally a disappointment because it was tasteless and almost no cheese taste. They spend 105 minute to baked the cheese until tasteless? They had alot ham in the spaghetti but same thing, it was totally tasteless. I am very confident Kim Gary can done much better than this shit.

Overall, just another average cafe. I bet the Six Inch name was came from their signature food, Six Inch hot dog where it doesn't caught our interest because it just look too ordinary and I bet it is same with GSC cinema. Beat me if I am wrong.

I am interested to coming back here for other foods but not until they improved their service. Thanks for ruining my Christmas lunch Six Inch.

One Recipe Cafe Food Review @ SS2

How many of you like to eat Fish Head Noodle but hardly find a decent and favourable? Fear not! OneRecipe at SS2 prepared a variety of Fish Head Noodle. It is not the ordinary noodle you ever had! Courtesy to Kianfai & Steven I am given chance to review it.

Lets start from the snack/side dishes. Honestly I love all this so much. It is not too oily yet the taste are much better than the usual you get from outside. Thumb up to all the snack!

* Penang Lobak RM6.90 *
* Fried Fish Ball RM6.90 *
* Fried Fish Paste RM6.90 *
* Fried Salad Seafood Roll RM6.90 *
* Fried Dumpling RM6.90 *
* Fried Dragon Prawn Ball RM6.90 *

Now for the main course!

* King Crab Fish Head Mee Hoon RM23.80 *

No doubt the crab in King Crab Fish Head Mee Hoon is very big and fresh! It just make betina ate none stop and she alone whack almost all the crabs. Unfortunately, the soup doesnt have what it suppose to have, the crabs taste.

* Fresh Prawn Fish Head Mee Hoon RM16.90 *

As for the Fresh Prawn & Fish Head Mee Hoon, the soup taste is much better than the King Crab Fish Head Mee Hoon. It has prawn taste of course ;) Other than that nothing to shout of.

* Curry Flavour Fresh Prawn Fish Head Mee Hoon RM16.90 *

Curry flavour Fresh Prawn & Fish Head Mee Hoon not really spicy. It taste like laksa as well. Not really my favourite since I don't like laksa taste ;P

* Tom Yam Flavour Fresh Prawn Fish Head Mee Hoon RM16.90 *

Finally, my favourite gonna be Tom Yum flavour Fresh Prawn & Fish Head Mee Hoon. The tom yam soup is just nice - not too spicy nor sour. Highly recommended for tom yam lover!

Overall, it is a very pleasing lunch time with friends. Of course, courtesy of One Recipe Cafe, I can have some giveaway to my dear readers. Yes I know I rarely did any giveaway so as a part of my appreciation, let's get it!! Find it out more how in my Facebook ;)

Of course, beside fish head noodle, You all can enjoy some coffee and toast from One Recipe Cafe ;)

Char Siu @ Full Glory Restaurant & Cafe

It has been pretty sinful week for me this few days. Bat Kut Teh, Pork burger, pork mee and now, Char siu (barbecue pork) was in my eating list. Since i started to work, I started to discover awesome food nearby area. One of them is this restaurant, Full Glory Restaurant & Cafe at Kota Damansara, same row with the famous Hokkien Mee.

Well, pretty much like normal shop, it has chicken, duck, char siu and siu yuk (roasted pork) to choose together with option mee or rice. They have other food including fish too (which i never try before).

* 2 Pin - Char Siu & Roasted Duck with mee RM8.80 *

Nevertheless, what i love this shop most is their Char Siu. This is one of the best char siu i ever taste. The char siu sauce is sweet but not too sweet too. The meat is crystal clear and just nice enough to chew.

* 2 Pin - Char Siu & Roasted Duck with rice RM8.80 *

Went to have lunch with Pennie and Ken the other day and of course, i recommended the char siu to them. Both of them do agree it is nice but of course, there is always a higher mountain than this. Ken said there is a better char siu at kepong.

* Char siu close up! Yes it is sinful... *

Now, i gotta wait for the next trip with the gang to kepong to try out the char siu! Meanwhile, char siu from Full Glory is highly recommended for Kota Damansara area ;)

Teriyaki Pork Burger @ KISSATEN Cafe & Restaurant

Been hearing from most of my pork gang that Kissaten @ Jaya One has one of the best pork burger and char siu (barbecue pork) pizza. Feeling curious and looking for people to eat with me, finally i am granted the chance last week.

Went there for dinner last tuesday with few of us. Just a casual dinner, chit chatting, or maybe anti socializing while Joanna testing my Baby Zeekon. Yes! Another potential PEN user! I knew she fall in love with it ;P

I ordered the Teriyaki Pork Burger, RM10.90. It has 1 layer of pork patty and another layer of egg. Pair with the teriyaki sauce, it is nice! Though honestly i felt the sauce is abit overwhelming and hardly taste the patty, but the egg taste still strong. I love it if u ask me :)

The rest ordered Teriyaki Chicken Sausage, RM7.90. It has a very thick and big chicken sausage with teriyaki sauce. Din get to try but according to them it is nice especially the sausage.

Honestly speaking, i am satisfy with the pork burgers. It is pretty cheap too compare to Andes byo and The Hungry Hogs. However, the price is solely on burger only, no fries. Cheap or not, it is up to u to judge :)

I will beback again to try the char siu pizza! Oh heard that their coffee very nice too. Too bad, I am not really a coffee lover.

Pak Kin Pak Sun - Pork Chop Burger Macau Style

Well, been loving pork more and more revently..Bat Kut Teh, Pork Chop and Pork Burger! I gonna hunt them all 1 by 1 in KL soon ;P One the night after Bosco & Sherman Concert, me and Betina hunt for food. Mind you it was late night (11+ after we reach setapak) and most shop are closed. Went to Papa Rich and the whole area ran out electricity immediately after we order. Finally, we dine in to Pak Kin Pak Sun cafe.

Well, i wanted to try the pork burger here long time ago. Thus i give it a try, Pork Chop Burger Macau Style RM6.80. Come with fries as well. The size is not big. The meat is not thick. The size is just right like Mc Donald Mc Chicken.

Since it is pork chop and not patty, thus it doesn't have any fill inside the meat. The taste was decent, nothing to shout out. But the price is pretty cheap for a pork burger (except Ninja Joe).

Not the best pork burger i ever had, still love Hungry Hogs and, started getting bored with Andes Byo haha...would love to explore other restaurant/cafe/shop. So any recommendation for me to add into my hunting list? ;)

Chinese New Year Dinner @ Dorsett Regency Hotel Kuala Lumpur

Courtesy of Jayren, i am invited to having the early Lunar New Year reunion dinner with other bloggers at Dorsett Regency Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Checker cafe. For your information, Checker Cafe wasn't a Chinese restaurant but in this new year occasions, they offer the buffet menu.

The interior is pretty well done. Feel comfortable and peace when dine in. My personal opinion, this place is one of the best option to having reunion dinner rather than traditionally going to Chinese restaurant and get packed. You may start doing reservation now at here!

Our dinner table was very well prepared.

Our menu of the night was prepared solely by Chef Lai. Thumb up to him! He look tired but the smile was his biggest satisfactory when we enjoyed his food.

Here are the food we had on that night.

Started up with drink, we are served with the Prosperity Splash Juice. Very unique drink that full with vitamin because it is mixtured of Pineapple, Mandarin orange, Dragon Fruit juice and hint of honey. Everytime i take a sip on it i get difference fruit taste and towards the bottom i can taste pineapple most. Pretty good and refreshing juice.

Hey it is Chinese New Year, Yee Sang definitely is a must for us. It is symbol of abundance, prosperity and vigor. Here, we are serve with Salmon Yee Sang with Crispy Salmon Skin. Not a salmon fans, but i definitely love the Crispy Salmon Skin.

Of course, whenever we toss the Yee Sang we will speak out all the good work and hoping it to bring luck. Can i wish for a better job and paid for me? of course, with good boss and colleague LOL

Next, Pan-fried Lamb Rack with Chef Special Sauce. It is one of the specialty by the Chef Lai and he doesn't reveal much about the special sauce is. It is one of my favourite dishes among all. The meat is completely tender and juicy enough, make me wanna go and get 2nd piece.

Another dishes must have for Chinese during this new year is none other than Braised Shark's Fin with Assorted Seafood. However, this Shark's Fin soup had more on crab meat and fish maw in it, enhancing the soup taste.

Steamed Chicken with Herbs have a pretty good texture and meaty. However it hink it was too soft to chew. People without strong teeth might like it.

Deep-Fried Cod Fish with Superior Soya Sauce is nice! The Cod fish is fresh and it goes well with simple Soy Sauce. The skin is crispy and the meat is tender.

Another dish that believe will bring good fortune is Deep Fried Prawns with Seafood Sauce. The prawn are meaty and fresh. With the seafood sauce, it is undeniable that it has rich juice and taste.

Braised Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Dried Oyster and Black Mushroom with Seasonal Vegetable is a great combination. It is delicious and full with juicy sauce around especially for a mushroom lover like me.

The golden colored Fried Rice with Ginger and Salted Egg was served at last. Somehow i felt the fried rice is dry. More salted egg will be good and enchant more of the taste.

Steamed Nian Gao as a part of desert are served on that night. It look sticky, but actually is not very sticky once you lift it up and what surprising is it is pretty soft to chew. The shredded coconut as topping went well with the nian gao.

Golden Sesame Ball with Red Bean paste is one of my favourite. The taste is up to quality, not too oily and, awesome :3

Sweetened Red Bean Paste is very well done too. The texture is just nice, not too thin not too thick. It was sweet compare to normal, but it is acceptable. Plus, it add abit mandarin orange skin inside to enhance the taste.

Overall, it was very satisfactory and stomach filling dinner. It was my first Yee Sang of the year with friends.
