Coriander Leaf Cafe Review @ Northpoint, Mid Valley

I guess it is no strange if most of you have no idea where is Northpoint. Even myself never been there at all before. It is actually an office area there and I don't think shopper will walk until there. Anyway, courtesy to Coriander Leaf Cafe for the invites, I discover a new and cheap place to eat at Mid Valley.

A quick introduction to Coriander Leaf Cafe - they are casual dining place that served mostly on breakfast, asian fusion, western and chinese style.

* Watermelon & Apple Juice *
* Teh C Special (3 Layer Tea) RM 3.80 *

We were been treated generously by Fabian, the owner of Coriander Leaf Cafe on that day as he allowed us to ordered whatever we want. Of course, he recommended few of his best seller which are chicken chop, chicken curry kapitan, honey chicken and salted egg fish.

* Nasi Lemak RM 2.90 *

No chance to try this since Marilyn finish it by herself LOL

* Kam Heong Beef *

Kam Heong Beef wasn't in the menu and Fabian plan to include it soon. “Kam Heong” is a signature Malaysian stir-fry and also means “Golden Fragrance”. It incorporates ingredients from Malay, Chinese, and Indian cooking. While the Kam Heong Beef from Coriander Leaf Cafe doesn't really make me drool, it wasn't disappointed either. The ingredient mixture and portion just nice. The beef meat is tender enough to chew.

* Chicken Curry Kapitan RM 8.90 *

A quick check on Chicken Curry Kapitan, it actually an adaptation of the Indian chicken curry. Kapitan is the name given to appointed Chinese chiefs during the times of the Straits Settlement. My first time having this and is really good. It is not too spicy either. Gonna order more of this in future :D

* Marmite Fish RM 8.90 *
* Salted Egg Fish RM 9.90 *

Nothing much to shout on the Marmite Fish and Salted Egg Fish. It just taste good and the fish is fresh :D

* Butter Prawn with Gravy RM 9.50 *

I am not huge fans of prawn because I always hate to peel the shell. For some reason, the shell and the meat for this Butter Prawn with Gravy is soft. The butter taste good though but I am sure not the best I ever had.

* Honey Chicken RM 9.50 *

One of the major crowd favourite, Honey Chicken. Every part of the chicken is fully coated with the honey and definitely make you finger licking good.

* Kam Heong Fried Rice RM 8.50 *

Abit disappointed on the Kam Heong Fried Rice as I felt the taste not consistence. Some part has strong fragrance and some just feel abit more plain. However the taste almost close to what I had ever tasted, the best Kam heong fried rice. Prefer it to have stronger taste though to enhance it.

* Chicken Chop RM 11.90 *
* The sauces *

Finally, the best seller in the shop, Chicken Chop. It come with four sauces to choose - black pepper, sweet & sour, nyonya and mushroom cheese. Out of the four sauces, my favourite goes to Nyonya sauce. It is spicy and abit sour, close to hainanese sauce. The chicken chop portion is big enough and yes, they usually chopped into pieces already for you. Seriously, pair it with nyonya sauce, one of the best chicken chop I ever had.

It was a very pleasant and great lunch dining at Coriander Leaf Cafe. Unfortunately we have no chance to try their noodle but I'll be back again to try out more of their menu. If you're someone who working nearby Mid Valley, add this place as one of your lunch spot!

For more info, feel free to check out their Facebook Page, Coriander Leaf Restaurant.

Sunday lunch at Antipodean Cafe @ Jalan Telawi

Happy Father Day! Unfortunately this post is nothing regarding father day. Just a casual Sunday lunch with deary at Bangsar. Y ou know I don;t really like to go Bangsar on weekend. I had bad experience and impression at that place especially the parking. So damn hard to find. Nevertheless, I got the urge to eat burger today. The addiction is kicking in today and I decided to get myself a Killer Gourmet Burger (KGB) but a huge face palm for myself. The moment I almost reach Bangsar I only realize it open on 5pm. Well, being flexible, we decided to eat at Antipodean Cafe.. for the first time :P

Well I am quite surprise the place very packed with people. People actually queueing up for seats. We are quite lucky since only 2 of us and we are seated immediately. I asked for menu and the waiter said their one and only menu is inside the shop. Being no choice, I went in and took a pic of their menu and back to my seat to slowly see. Heard alot about their legendary Big Breakfast from my friends via instagram. Without any hesitation I ordered that for myself and deary decided to had Scrambled Egg Salmon on Toast. I ordered Apple Pie to as extras since I long time never had one.

* Banana Milk Shake RM9 *
* Iced Chocolate RM8 *

Thumb up for their speedy service. Within 10 minutes everything are served on our table despite alot customers. Now, this is really a service charge I wouldn't mind paying. Efficiency is the key.

* Apple Pie RM8 *

Nothing to shout on the apple pie. It is sweet enough for my liking :D

* Scrambled Eggs Salmon on Toast RM20 *

According to deary, the ingredient in her Scrambled Egg Salmon on Toast is fresh enough. I take a bite from her salmon scramble egg and the salmon taste stronger. The egg actually doesn't have much taste since they didn't put as seasonal.

* Bacon Big Breakfast RM20 *

The Big Breakfast was indeed big. I choose bacon. Inside there are toast, mushroom, scrambled egg and hash brown. Not the usual hash brown I ate and I don't really like it because of the strong veggie inside (dont know what's the veggie name). Bacon, mushroom and scrambled egg taste real good when this 3 ate together since the bacon tend to be more salty.

Oh crap I am getting fatter! piff

I am pretty satisfied with my lunch. Pretty much random and impromptu Sunday lunch :)

Belated Valentine Dinner at Barbera Cafe

To be honest, i did not celebrate anything with Betina on the exact days of Valentine. We did not want to get stuck in jam and human on the very lovely day. For us, everyday is Valentine day ;) However, I brought her to dining at Barbera Cafe a day after Valentine day after found out that i have extra RM100 voucher to spend.

We went to the Bangsar outlet. Very lovely place i would said. It feel like being at home. Plus, a very nice and romantic ambient around. We decided to spend finish all the RM100. Thus we ordered 2 spaghetti and a pizza for ourself. Yes we are big eater ;3

Couldn't remember the exact name for our food but i do remember Betina ordered Salmon spaghetti, mine is beef and the pizza is one of the recommended in the menu, duck pizza. I am abit disappointed with the pizza though. Doesn't taste as good as i expected and the meat not tendered. Other than that i have no complain :)

I would love to come back again however Betina seem dislike the food here. I agree with her on certain aspect. There are much more worth foods around the world to be dine in. But, Barbera Cafe really make me feel comfortable to dine in with superb service. Not to mention it is fast.

Betina is not with me now, miss her everyday ❤
