Time - 5.00pm onwards
Venue - Sepang International Circuit (SIC)
Web - www.facebook.com/Heineken & www.heineken.com/my
Note - Heineken Thirst is open to 18 years & above only

Towering above the futuristic design universe of Heineken Thirst will be one of the most iconic international pieces of public and festival art of recent years. Already a favourite at festivals across the United States, the 50 foot high Wish makes its Asia debut at Heineken Thirst. Designed by San Francisco public art conceptualists Robert James, Wish consists of ‘three contemporary dandelions that are losing their seeds in the wind’.

Clad in aluminium leaves and mirrored glass and edged with pulsating LEDs that react to the tempo of the music far below, Wish is far more than festival eye candy. It’s a visual centrepiece that symbolises and reflects the progressive values of Heineken’s consumers, representing the seeds of music and creativity that are spread across the world and into our lives.

Amongst that roster of local talent bringing Heineken Thirst bursting to life are some of Malaysia’s most talented visual artists and graphic designers. Visual artist Callen Tham – aka themancalleduncle – is creating a unique live cinema installation for the festival called Wall of Sound. On a backdrop consisting of a number of textured and layered steel sculptures, themancalleduncle will be mapping an ever evolving palette of moving images onto the sculptures to create a large scale interactive cinematic performance that he can shift according to the mood and tempo of the crowd surrounding it.

Enhancing that landscape is another long-time Heineken art collaborator, designer Andrew Lee. A former Heineken presents JUICE DJ Quest finalist, Andrew Lee has specialised in event design and festival landscaping for more than a decade working on many of Malaysia’s landmark festivals and events including the previous Heineken Thirst and Green Room events. This year he will be developing the look and feel of the site in collaboration with Callen Tham and is responsible for the unique identity of Heineken’s acclaimed Infinity Bar and Heinekabanas.

In another first, this year Heineken Thirst will feature the innovative bamboo sculpture work of leading Indonesian artist Andi Ramdani, who will offer an organic counterpoint to the illuminated high technology of the Wish installation. The project is a collaboration between Ramdani and Bamboo Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a local company promoting bamboo as a sustainable resource in various innovative products.

And as another exclusive, we will be documenting your journey through Heineken Thirst as filtered through the lens of the world’s leading DJ celebrity snapper Rukes. This self-taught LA based photographer tours the electronic music festivals of the world, working with most of the world’s leading DJs and producers to capture to the essence of the action and spirit that these events create.

Add it up and it’s a recipe for a night of supercharged thrill-seeking and discovery on December 8 at Heineken Thirst, Malaysia’s premier electronic music festival.

Lighting up the December darkness like a solar flare, Heineken Thirst – Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival - powers back to life on December 8 at Sepang International Circuit. Expanding into new dimensions of music and creativity with a series of exclusives, this year Heineken Thirst brings you two stages of passion and excitement against a backdrop of towering light sculptures and creative wish fulfilment.

Every year Heineken Thirst searches for sound barriers to break and visual limits to exceed. In 2011, it was lift-off with ever-accelerating super producer Tiësto. In 2010, the awe-inspiring spectacle of Godskitchen Boombox touched down at Sepang. This year Heineken Thirst scores a double first: with twin headliners in the shape of Swedish house supremo Avicii and French electronica pioneers Justice across two arenas, both playing their debut Malaysian sets, Heineken Thirst 2012 is set to eclipse its own supersonic achievements.

Alongside these international icons, a line up of top-flight international and local artists will be bringing Heineken Thirst to its pulsating climax. Progressive electro experts Above & Beyond need little introduction to Malaysia’s Electronic Dance Music fans. This globe-spanning UK-based trio ranks Malaysia as one of its favourite destinations, ripping the roof off whenever they appear.

Joining the line up is underground favourite Brodinski whose mix of dirty house and electro and unceasing work ethic have made him a firm favourite on indoor and outdoor stages worldwide. Not forgetting Gesaffelstein whose cosmic electro nods to the 1980s darkwave synth movement.

And that’s before you consider Heineken Thirst’s line up of local artists. With a reputation for nurturing talent and connecting it to the leading edge of international music trends, the local talent reads like a who’s who of Heineken’s talent development achievements of the last decade. Goldfish & Blink, Malaysia’s first EDM superstars will be drawing a capacity crowd at the main arena, while Thirst winner DJ Blink’s underground electronic project LapSap, along with DJ XU, will be rocking the second stage.

Then there’s Mr Nasty & GuruGuru, featuring another Thirst winner, Hoong (part of Altered Image), and Found @ Thirst alumni Phil K Lee (Champion, 2010), Tommy Cham (Champion, 2011) and Nick Haydez (Finalist, 2011), which all adds up into a line up of incredible Heineken discoveries. Not to mention Jee Hoe and Hypeembeats whose fresh-faced indie, pumping electro and techno have rocked everything from dark room club nights to events like Heineken Green Room and outdoor shows.

Of course, Heineken’s continuously evolving roll call of creative and collaborative talent doesn’t end with the music talent. In the search to find ever more exclusive and inclusive experiences for Heineken Thirst, last year’s festival included 10-metre tall pillars-like science fiction-inspired turrets – that welcomed 25,000 people into an arena flanked by our futuristic Infinity Bar and Heinekabanas to create a Heineken drinking experience unique to Heineken Thirst.

This year promises to develop those themes ever further at a specially designed Heineken Thirst festival site featuring some of the latest innovations in creative technologies, digital landscaping and interactive collaborative installation pieces. In another Heineken Thirst exclusive, the festival will feature a huge sculptural centrepiece in the form of Robert James Buchholz’s Wish, fresh from its appearance at this year’s Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, a 17 metre high installation consisting of three LED lit flowers that pulse in time to the music.

Add to that the presence of the world’s leading DJ celebrity snapper Rukes, the self-taught LA based photographer who tours the EDM festivals of the world with his lens and you have the recipe for a night of supercharged thrill-seeking and discovery on December 8 at Heineken Thirst, Malaysia’s leading electronic music festival.

To be part of Heineken’s exciting calendar of events, stay tuned at our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/Heineken) or Twitter (www.twitter.com/Heineken_MY).

See you guys there! We gotta rock!

Tiger Asian Music Festival 2012 and Ticket Giveaway

Hola everyone! Tiger Asian Music Festival is back in this 2012!! If you miss the fun for 12 hours concert marathon performances by a total of 25 artists from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Korea last year, you click here to feel the awesomeness! Unfortunately this year we don't have 12 hours marathon, but, artistes line up is still awesome!

Kicking off from 6.30pm until late, urban music fans can expect a night full of energy and excitement from some of the Asia’s most talented progressive artists ( Paul Wong & Ka Keung [from Beyond], A Yue, LMF, Jam Hsiao, A Lin, Mc Hot Dog and Manhand)

“Tiger is always looking to give our fans what they want, and this new setting and genre is part of the many ways in which we execute constantly evolving with our fans,” said Sean Koh, Marketing Manager of Tiger. “This year’s Tiger AMF actually widens the focus compared to last year, from being all about the music, to being about an entire lifestyle that Tiger beer drinkers embrace.”

Under the Tiger Music banner, the brand has presented many successful live shows in the country, starting with the first ever T-Music Festival in 2009 that had a concert atmosphere. Tiger AMF then emerged to take over the mantle of Tiger’s flagship annual music festival.

Tiger AMF 2011 brought alive a truly adrenaline-packed and unforgettable experience, as a massive crowd of 18,000 people took over the Malaysia International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC) for an indoor music extravaganza, with the transformation to a festival feel rather than a concert.

This year, set to bring the “Street” to Sunway’s Surf Beach on the 14th April 2012, Tiger has upped the ante once again, with an outdoor music and lifestyle festival with the best of the best of urban Asian artists to complement the progressive nature of Tiger AMF 2012. As the singers and their sounds are all coming from the urban genre, expect to hear some one-of-a-kind collaborations between the finest that Asia has to offer.

So with a concert being brought straight from the “Street to the Beach”, collaborations between the hottest Asian artists, and a multitude of tickets up for grabs to be won, it is easy to see that Tiger’s understanding on what is current for its consumers is once again consistently delivering a winning formula and Tiger AMF promises to be the biggest musical event of 2012.

CNY Movie Marathon - Journey 2 : The Mysterious Island, I Love Hong Kong 2012 (2012 我愛HK 喜上加囍), All Well End Well 2012 (八星抱喜) and Ah Beng The Movie : Three Wishes (阿炳:心想事成)

It is Chinese New year!! Yesterday i am having movie marathon with deary at One Utama. We broke the record this time with 4 movies in a row! Too much movie and head spinning wtf

Young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first film) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. It's a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean's new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

Very nice matter painting and 3D modeling in this movie. What i love most was the creativity for combining 3 island into one island, the Mysterious Island. However storyline pretty predictable. Was expecting more adventure in the island instead rushing it about the island gonna sink to the bottom of sea and they need to survive and rescue themself.

Plus, there are some scene doesnt make sense according the the island law. Some insect are suppose to be big (like centipede) is small in the movies. How could Hanks manage to throw the spear without any resistance under the water? Oh well, logic or not, this movie still entertaining.

Bet the target audiences is more for people who love fantasy and children..why? because kids love Dwayne Johnson in comedy style.

Well, CNY of course i am expecting to watch some chinese movie. Followed up by last year, this year we have another movie from TVB Production, I Love Hong Kong 2012 (2012 我愛HK 喜上加囍).

Kuok is famous weather forecast announcer, who dreams to be in the headlines, but failed to do so even when he is about to retire. One day, he finds out that the world is facing a deadly threat and the chance arises to him to become a news sensation. This is when the fun, laughter and havoc come in place.

As usual, this movie gimmick is alot alot alot of TVB Actors/Actress. It is hardly for me not to compare last year "I Love Hong Kong" eventhough both are not same story. I love the previous year more due to a very great moral value and meaningful in the story. Compare to this year, it is more focused on the end of the world and dream.

Don't get me wrong, i dislike it doesnt mean is not good. The movie is still very enjoyable and funny. Thumb up to Standley Fung for being most focused and developed character in this movie. The last thing i dun like from this movie is the ending song...Amazing Grace....WHY!!???

The most ROFLMAO scene is the "You're apple of my eyes" scene...i wonder how much copyright they paid for the scene..hahaha

Next movie, All Well End Well 2012 (八星抱喜)!

Network tycoon Maximilian established an all weather female support site. Men come to bat and the only remuneration for them is one grateful embrace. On quest in helping the female protagonists, the heroic mission of these four men turns to be a journey discovering their self significant and values. And their embrace resembles the blossom of a beautiful relationship.

Love this movie much better than previous All Well End Well series. The story telling is much meaningful rather than forcefully being lame. The story was separated into 4 where Raymond Wong about being a father, Donnie Yen about chasing a dream, Louis Koo about photography (at least that i could think of XD) and Chapman To about love story. Donnie Yen acting are much better here. And thumb up to Louis Koo character name as Holland Kin...Hou Lan Kin LOL

I love how director connect the story. Out of 4 main character, he manage did a little connection between Louis Koo and Chapman To side. Other than that, story went pretty predictable, well it is all well end well afterall. Happy ending for all.

The final movie of the marathon was none other than Ah Beng The Movie : Three Wishes (阿炳:心想事成).

Ah Beng, Ah Lian, Rain, Bobby and Salted Fish Lian are coming to the big screen CNY 2012. The eve of The Lunar New Year, every household in a village is busy preparing to receive the auspicious God Of Fortune (GOF). Ah Beng's father being poor can only give coins and a scruffy GOF, who is in fact, the true and almighty GOF is touched by Ah Beng's father's sincerity and grants him 3 wishes. Not-so-bright security guard Ah Beng is being bullied by a group of rich brats. A mysterious guy comes in and helps Ah Beng. Grateful for his help, Ah Beng invites him into his life and things starts to change around him.

Another local production from MyFM team. Thumb up to their great work. As you all know i always love to watch good local production. It provide a little good value in this movie such as don't smoke (or u'll die LOL), friendship and the important of eat together during reunion dinner.

The movie has a pretty good storyline. The father who manage go to future and watch what change, how his son grown and so on. However u felt it is kinda waste to do not develop more the story between Ah Beng and Salty Fish Lian, since they look more than just a friend in the story. Overall, thumb up for this movie. There are some touched screen and happy ending of course, after the history change.

Awesome! I broke my record, watched 4 movies! Next year shall try 5 movies X)
