About Time Premier Screening

Courtesy to Nuffnang, I get to watch About Time Premier Screening before it release in cinema.

At the age of 21, Tim (Domhnall Gleeson ) is told an incredible family secret by his father (Bill Nighy) - that all the men in his family have the ability to travel in time. He can relive any moment in his life to try things differently until he gets them perfectly right.
About Time is a comedy about love and time travel, which discovers that, in the end, making the most of life may not need time travel at all.

Time travel ability. How I wish I could have it too? I can just back to past. Do what I shouldn't do and POP! My life could have change today. Ok just kidding.

I though the movie gonna be about romance but I was wrong. It got my attention at the middle of the movie which actually it is more than a romance. It is also about life. The plot is pretty good though it lack of climax. Felt the whole movie graph pretty constant if you asked me.

It also shown great and strong character development of the main actor, Domhnall Gleeson. Not to mentioned, I also love the chemistry between Tim and his father. It touches my heart a little at the final. I guess this is one of the fear growing person will face, death.

Nevertheless, About Time will be on cinema next week. So, it is about time to bring your girl friend or boy friend for this movie maybe? :P

World War Z 3D Premier Screening

Courtesy to Nuffnang, I get to watch World War Z Premier Screening in 3D. Unfortunately the 3D doesn't make much difference in terms of depth and I still hate the glass for not being sharp. Rather watch in 2D though..

The story revolves around United Nations employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who traverses the world in a race against time to stop a pandemic that is toppling armies and governments and threatening to decimate humanity itself.

In World War Z, it is a movie you get to see Brad Pitt (as Gerry Lane) one man show. Nah it is not typical action packed Zombie movie. It is more like adventure and survival for me since Gerry wasn't a soldier or warrior, but an investigator. The movie is full with suspense, surprises and ZOMBIESSSSS of course. Everything happen quite fast. Within the first 10 minutes of the movie, Zombie already introduce and attacking human on the street (as seen in most WWZ trailer).

However, dislike some scene for being too dark and fast moving camera. Can't really see what's happening. The Zombies in this movie seem doesnt eat brain or flash. They just bite them off to turn them into Zombie. Yup, no bloody and gore scene. In the same time those Zombies was on high steroid most of the time since they very aggressive and running very fast. Kinda remind me of the crappy Resident Evil movie. I also curious how can Tommy survive from the Zombie attack when his parent was attacked? Where is the he holding gun from? Why Gerry Lane did not use any gun?

Oh I almost forgot the most useless character in the movie, Professor Fassbach who suppose accompanied Gerry to find antidote, trip down himself because of too panic when saw zombie then accidentally shot himself dead. Dafuq! Oh I can't help it but Brad Pitt looks like Chris Hemsworth/Thor here. In my heart keep shouting "IDIOT! USE YOUR MJORNIR!" LOL

Nevertheless, I think it is a type of movie either you love it, or hate it. It might disappoint some zombie fans there.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation (3D) Premiere Screening

Courtesy to Nuffnang I get to watch G.I. Joe: Retaliation (3D) Premiere Screening before it release in cinema. Yupz I watch it in 3D.

• The G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

Disclaimer : I never watch the first movie nor any comic/cartoon related. Thus I will be talking solely based on the movie itself only. I got to say it just another typical action movie. Storyline not engaging enough and character development pretty plain.

Straight forward no brainer storyline. The G.I Joe get ambushed and frame by governement, they wanna find out they truth and revenge, finally they win, main villain Cobra escape. Isn't too easy to sum up the story? Snake Eye use gun more than his blade at the end of the movie, General Joe Colton action too minor but the way the trailer and story plot make it as if he got big role and finally Roadblock who just so-so character performance. I like Firefly though.

Visual effect is awesome but forgetable. Explosion here and there which commonly seen in Expandable 2. Overall, nth impressive.

Watch in 3D? I dunno coz the GSC Tropicana Mall had pretty bad 3D visual. My eye hurt wearing the glasses that night and it doesn't have much depth.

Journey To The West: Conquering Demons (西游: 降魔篇) Premier Screening

Courtesy to Nuffnang, I am invited to watch Journey To The West: Conquering Demons (西游: 降魔篇) premier screening before it release in cinema.

Based on one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature of the same name, Stephen Chow's "Journey To The West" is a contemporary remake of the misadventures of a Buddhist monk as he makes a pilgrimage from China to India. The monk travelled to the "Western Regions" during the Tang Dynasty, to obtain sacred texts (sūtras). The bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara (Guanyin), on instruction from the Buddha, gives this task to the monk and his three protectors in the form of disciples - namely Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing - together with a dragon prince who acts as Xuanzang's steed, a white horse. These four characters have agreed to help Xuanzang as atonement for their past sins.

Well, first thing first I feel the title shouldn't be Journey To The West. When it mean that I expecting it really their journey to the west, fight for demon and get the bible at India. Unfortunately it is not and completely misleading including the summary that I get from GSC as well. The story are involved XuangZang life before he met his three discipline and goes for journey.

Anyway, with some twist here and there, this instalment are totally difference from the original story. The storyline are pretty straight forward and predictable. However no character development and it come with ridiculous mixture of Final Fantasy and Dragon Ball element inside. Alot people complain the CG sucks but it is still acceptable for me. Well china-ish CG if to be exact.

Whole movie pretty funny eventhough I feel, not as good as last time. But hey at least it manage release my stress after tired from working.

Honestly if it is not Stephen Chow production and from any china-kia work, I dont think I bother to take a look at it.

Jack Reacher Premier Screening

Courtesy to Nuffnang I get to watch Jack Reacher Premier Screening before it release in cinema.

A homicide investigator digs deeper into a case involving a trained military sniper who shot five random victims.

Not a very heart beating movie but still enjoyable with all the corny and funny dialogue. Jack Reacher not exactly an awesome movie with awesome gun fight, fist fight or car chasing. It just alright for everything. The movie is mainly focus one man show of Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher.

Feel the plot pretty draggy but still acceptable with all the corny dialogue to fill in the blank. I do enjoy the case solving part since I am huge fans of detective movie.

The most WTF moment scene was the last shot where Jack Reacher manage to shoot Emerson in the small gap without even looking nor aim. Everything just happen quick and damn WTF. Plus, the plot wasn't reveal why Emerson as the police are helping the villain eventhough he said "You will see later" when he asked why. The real sniper villain in the movie pretty useless since he known as best shooter but fail to shoot down Jack who on moving.

Well, I still enjoy it overall. Catch this on cinema coming this Thursday if you're fans of detective or Tom Cruise. I bet you gonna love him even more after this movie.
