Journey to Convocation at Melaka - Nadeje

Ok This gonna be last post of my Melaka journey. Phew procrastinating too much on my Melaka post because whenever I blog about it, it will be always about foods, foods and foods. Nevertheless, this is not about the cake in Nadeje, but their other foods.

Back to last year Christmas I actually tried Nadeje for the first time in my life and very fast I love their Mile Creeps Cake. Note that I am not a cake person but this shop do actually manage to convince me and make me craved for it.

So ok this is not about the Mile Creeps Cake eventhough I actually did it on the night before. Check my Instagram! :P So I dont exactly like their other food here but the price reasonable enough. Taste wise nothing to shout about.

Deary order the Carbonara Seafood. According to her the prawn wasn't so fresh. Other than that it was ok, just nothing to shout. I forgot the price ;/

I ordered myself a Chicken Teriyaki Burger. Can't really taste the Teriyaki sauce but the egg and chicken meat did a well done combo. Good enough to fill into my stomach.

Finish lunch we head back to KL and back to working life. 4 days 2 night journey at Melaka is too short for us. Sigh if only we could travel more, eat more and spend honeymoon time more. Nevertheless, we are going Hong Kong next year!! I have been anticipating it! It gonna be epic trip for us :D

Journey to Convocation at Melaka - Coconut Shake @ Bukit Berendam

Beat me, I dun really fancy reviewing beverage but when I do, it is something special that I don't think is available in KL. Correct me if I am wrong :P

* Coconuts, nuts everywhere *

So here we are, on the last day in Melaka for deary convocation.. Oh wait I just realize I din even blog about her convo yet.. So, here a picture of my baby girl and me during her convocation ;P Oh i got an awesome hair that day despite sweat like hell since her convo is on d afternoon till evening.

Ok back to business. So here we are, on the last day in Melaka for deary convocation which is also a day we head back to KL, deary drop by Batu Berendam and brought me to have the so called famous Coconut Shake. According to her there are 2 location which is Batu Berendam and Klebang but she prefer Batu Berendam LOL

* The stall *
* Price tag *

I really do fancy coconut drinks since it actually feel good when drink on hot day. What's more if it is shake? More cold! LOL..Plus the price pretty reasonable for me. Starting from RM2.30 to RM3.30.

* Blending *
* Chopping *
* Anticipating *

Of course, I dowan too much ice cream on the drinks since it might affect the coconut taste, thus I just go ahead with Coconut Shake Special (which come with 1 scoop of ice cream on top), RM2.80.

After trying out that. Yes it is cold. Nice to drink on hot day. But still nth special for me. Probably milk taste too heavy and covered most coconut taste. Actually I pretty like it. Maybe I should try it out the normal one someday when I have chance to back to Melaka again.

Journey to Convocation at Melaka - Amigo Steak & Grill

I found another love fiid at Melaka thanks to Betina! Yup! It is Amigo Restaurant that located at Jalan Melaka Raya 8. As everyone know I am huge fans of chicken chop and steak thus, this restaurant really served what I need.

Me myself are the type of kinda picky when come to price and portion and also the taste of food. In this case, Amigo do fulfil all my criteria! Price and portion are pretty balance, which mean affordable and not too small in size. Taste wise, it has what it should and I dare to say it even taste better than most restaurant out there. Not to mention the large varieties in the menu.

* Lime Plum Juice RM 3.50 *
* Yam Milk Shake RM 5.50 *

Eventhough they are well known as steak house, surprisingly they offered sushi as well. Being curious on how it taste like and will it be on par with most japanese shop out there, I ordered fews.

* Salmon Maki RM 4 (at the back) and Tamago Maki RM 3 (front) *

I ordered Salmon Maki and Tamago Maki. The Salmon inside the maki is very big if I were to compared. Taste wise, it is definitely taste much better than most sushi restaurant, My favourite of course the Tamago Maki while le gf love Salmon Maki.

* Chicken Cordon Bleu RM 15 *

Next, le gf ordered Chicken Cordon Bleu. Like the name suggested, is was wrapped with cheese and ham inside. The chicken is very crispy and easily to cut off. The taste is good as well, par with the standard at least and in my whole life, the only Chicken Cordon Bleu I ever tasted was from Secret Recipe and right now, Amigo has done it with much cheaper and larger portion than Secret Recipe. It is also worth to mention it came with salad and fries.

* Cajun Chicken RM 15 *

I almost ordered Mozzarella Chicken (RM18) for myself but in the end I change my mind and go for Cajun Chicken because I never heard such name before. What exactly Cajun Chicken is? Well it actually a grilled chicken topped with dry chillies on top of it. I try to do abit research and apparently Cajun is a type of cuisine. You may click here to read. Well I do like my Chicken alot. It really taste very spicy however the more I eat the more I feel like I am actually eating ajinamoto like those taiwanese chicken. But don't get me right, it still taste very nice. It just me who will get sick of too much ajinamoto. The meal is come with potato mashes instead of fries and salad like my gf meal.

Overall, it was a very nice and cheap dining place. I do highly recommend this to everyone who love steak. Someday, I will be back there to try their grill since it look so tempting and most customers there are ordering it.

Journey to Convocation at Melaka - U.S Pizza

Ok I am at Melaka now and blogging from there! Yay!! Ignore the title, it wasn't my convo but my deary haha. So we had lunch at U.S Pizza last friday upon our arrival at Melaka.

* U.S Pizza inside Dataran Pahlawan *

We ordered a set for 2 that come with a regular pizza, 2 soup, crispy bread stick and drinks. We add 3 pieces of chicken wing as addition.

* Mushroom Soup *

The mushroom soup is pretty normal. Not too thick yet diluted. Nothing to shout about it.

* Crispy Bread Stick *

Crispy bread stick was okok also. It is perfect to eat together by dip it with the mushroom soup.

* Chicken Wing *

Chicken Wing was little spicy for my liking and definitely not the best chicken wing i ever had. Pizza hut chicken wing still better.

* Chicken Classic Pizza *

Finally, the main character of the lunch is none other than the pizza itself, Chicken Classic. It contained chicken, mushroom and double cheese in the pizza. In my opinion, the pizza actually taste better than pizza hut. The taste between cheese and chicken was well blend and create a well balances taste. Plus the skin was pretty crispy at the side.

Total damage RM39.25. Still better than Ipoh Chicken Rice shop I had last time LOL

D'Puteh Restaurant and Ban Lee Siang Sate Celup at Melaka

Oh yes i went to Melaka last few days but not for fun, leisure or travel. It was for a important business to be done over there. Not to mention driving on 11pm+ to Melaka is not fun! The road is freaking dark -__- Anyway, still manage to grab some nice food there. Here the shop i would like to recommend when u at Melaka, D'Puteh Restaurant, located nearby Bukit Beruang.

* Nasi Lemak is one of the shop specialty *

What so special about this shop? I been there last 2 years mainly because of their fruit juice! They use pure fruit, no sugar no coloring no whatever u can name it. Plus, the size is pretty big and only cost RM2. Tell me where else u can get this? :D

* Banana Juice! *

Get myself a Nasi Goreng Ayam as well and well, the outlook it doesn't turn out as i expected. It kinda look like chicken rice to me ;/ but yet, it still cost RM4 for this..cheap!

* Chicken Fried Rice *

One Banana juice and a small size Chicken Fried Rice cant fill my stomach. Thus, I decided another round with deary at Sate Celup. I been Melaka few times and i actually never try once their Sate Celup. It is because i went there during festival season and i dislike queue or waiting for it.

* Guess where? :P *

Finally i manage to grab my opportunity and pay a visit to sate celup. Instead of going Capitol, we went Ban Lee Siang since everyone said this taste better.

* The sauce *

Each stick cost RM0.60..pretty ok for me :) Finally get myself some experience throw and cook the sate inside the sate sauce. But, i would like to conclude that sate celup is nothing special. It just like cooking a steamboat in a sate sauce LOL..oh well, yea steamboat.

* Steamboat... *

Yea this are the only shop i ate on that day. Others day i just having Vegetarian food since deary house nearby full with vegetarian shop LOLL

Christmas 2011 Season : Street Shooting at Jonker Night Market

Beside spending my time with my love one and food in Melaka, i takes my time to do some street shooting. Seriously i dun have any experience in street shooting. I think myself is more like product and event shooter.

* I bet everyone know where is Jonker Street *

However i do know there are 4 things play importance role in street shooting.

  • Composition : Whatever you shoot, composition always play importance role.
  • Timing : I always believe some moment cant be capture back. Thus the timing you press the shutter once you see it is important. Capture as many best moment as possible. Etc facial, action
  • Lens : Not necessaries. Using fast lens, more focal length lens, all are depend individual. Some people might like wider, some might like longer focal so that he doesn't approach the subject near. Everything is depend individually.
  • Story Telling : Yes, shoot whatever you like, but make sure your pics able to tell the story. Well, pics tell thousand words isn't?

As for myself, being too noob i went to street shooting with my Helios 58mm f2. Oh yea M42 lens that mount with my baby Zeekon. Thus i am shooting all the time using Manual focus. Feel like going back old school SLR.

* Smoking alone *

* No customer, despair *

* Doing this just for daily survival *

* Happy couple *

* Crying *

Sadly i do miss alot important timing and moment when i am busy adjusting the focus ring. But there are some pics i am satisfies too :)

* Buddha *

* Beside Angry Bird, Plant VS Zombie is kinda popular too *

* Ready *

* Anticipating *

* Not gonna share with YOU! *

Learned my lesson, next time i shall bring a proper gear to do some shooting :) What about u? Any tips to share with me how u do street shooting?

As you guys know, i have my christmas moment in Melaka last year with my love one. It is my 2nd time in a row having christmas moment with deary in Melaka. Well, never grow tired with Melaka. Next, we head to Seoul Garden that located inside Mahkota Parade and yet, stupid police block the road and dun allow ppl go in. * Carry On *

* United BBQ & Steamboat *

* Mushroom!! *

* Fresh prawn *

Have fun playing masak masak again X) and i love in fact that it wasn't as crowd as other places. Maybe not much people know about this place? Plus the food from Carry On all are fresh.

* One of our favourite, Mushroom *

* Tomyam soup *

* Ta daaa *

On the next day, we grab some opportunity to walk around the Melaka river that located behind our guest house. Oh it was awesome and windy..chinese new year wind maybe?

* The happy girl who smile when see river *

I was rushing to catch a bus to back KL, thus we din went any special place for lunch. We went to AEON Jusco and give a try to Tang Shifu. Finally some healthy food ;/ ahaha

* I wonder the owner is it reli like the cartoon character in the menu *

* Mee Suah with Dried Scallop and Abalone Slices (SET) RM14.90 *

*  Nourishing Soup with Ginseng (SET) RM18.90 *
