Duck King @ Jaya One

Another overdue post. Geez I am starting to developed this lazy habit. Shall keep track more often what pics I had in my camera. Nevertheless, had my lunch at Duck King for the first time before Chinese New Year over. A little gathering with some gang especially Sharon who missed us so much :P

Here are the food ordered by us :

* Century Egg with Spinach soup *

Nothing to shout about this century egg with spinach soup. The taste just nice and alright.

* Toufu with Pork Sauce *

The toufu with pork sauce is seriously nice! The sauce thickness, the minced pork meat plus the toufu is heavenly combine!

* Honey Pork *

Forgot what this call...Honey pork i think? This is seriously nice too. The sauce thickness just nice.

* Roasted Pork *

Roasted Pork aka siu yuk is nice too. The half fat half thin meat plus the crispy skin is totally awesome that I can practically eat the whole plate by my own.

* Roasted Duck *

Finally, the star of the day, roasted duck from Duck King. Though not the best duck I ever had (Kepong and Cheras has the best duck!), but it is still very nice and recommended.

Ok I know I write a bad post on this. That's because the post pretty overdue and I totally forgot the details of each food... My bad.. Guess in future I should jot down all the points :( If you gonna bash me, come! I am ready *armed with weapon* LOL

D'Arrange Marriage by Those Indian Guys @ PJ Laugh Fest

Hola! I know my blog is growing spider web and fungus huhu..Really busy recently. What am i busy with? Well aside from less attending event, I am actually busy working on video with my FrapTV crew (Hey do support by like and subscribe us k? :P), I am doing some designer freelance and also, busy being healthy by playing badminton.

Nevertheless, courtesy to Jaya One and PJ Live Arts, I got to catch up one of the show at PJ Laugh Fest. If you wondering, this whole month, Jaya One and PJ Live Arts will be having PJ Laugh Fest. For those who love stand up comedy, this gotta be your favourite month ;) Both me and Ken manage to catch up D'Arrange Marriage by Those Indian Guys show on last Thursday.

D'Arranged Marriage is a one man show has something for everyone: characters that will make you laugh until you cry, a few Bollywood-style song and dance routines and a wickedly funny look at Indian culture and life in New Zealand.

D'Arranged Marriage is the story of Sanjay Gupta, the New Zealand born son of Indian immigrants Manhur and Pushpa. 29 year-old Sanjay lives at home, works in his father’s corner shop, dreams of a career in stand-up comedy, and strenuously avoids the issue of an arranged marriage. His nagging parents finally get the better of him, but to his surprise, he discovers that Neenu, the prospective bride, is the one!

Unfortunately, complications (and hilarity) ensue… Adding to Sanjay’s trials and tribulations are Dilip, a gimpy uncle who yearns for the perfect Indian woman; the smooth-talking, sleazy playboy Rundeep; and Mr. Dave Patel, Johnny Walker (and the British Empire’s) best friend, who is Sanjay’s potential father-in-law.

With all 8 characters performed by one versatile actor, you have the funniest parody of Indian family life since Bend it Like Beckham, and what critics have dubbed a “roller coaster ride to laughsville.”

Performed in 7 countries over 200 times, D’Arranged Marriage is a proven international commercial and critical success.

Honestly speaking, Sanjay Gupta, the New Zealand Indian is awesome comedian! He alone manage to act up to 8 characters who obviously have difference personalities and behaviors for us to distinguish. Found out he is great dancer too, he really dance well on the stage.

Besides, he is very natural actors and is good in acting base on situation. For eg he broke one of the light on stage during the show but he still go on with his acting with some impromptu dialog, make us to believe it was apart of the show. He is just too awesome because I really got cheated by that ;/

Oh yea D'Arrange Marriage story is funny like hell. It would be better if u know some indian stuff to get better understanding. Overall i would say good job and well done! He is d 1st indian comedian i ever watch, before Russel Peters :P

Frontera Food Review

Went to food review together with GF on the 1st of September! Yes is 2 weeks ago and now only i got mood to blog about this. Well, the main reason of this review is to determine which food to stay in the menu and which gonna get elimination. Few bloggers are invited with some familiar faces of coz :)

First all of us get served with Tortilla Chicken Soup and Chipotle & Mushroom Soup. Together with the chips (i forgot the name..no is not nachos) that come with Chili Con Queso (Tejas-styled cheese dip made from American cheese, cheddar cheese & tomatoes) and Red Salsa (Homemade salsa using tomatoes, garlic, cilantro & Ancho chili).

* The left is Tortilla Chicken Soup and right is Chipotle & Mushroom Soup *

As for my preference, the best is Chipotle & Mushroom Soup! It contain mildly spicy chipotle chili and button mushroom clear soup. It taste abit mild spicy but enuf to make u cough if u drink too fast ;/ Meanwhile, the Totilla Chicken Soup taste like MSG soup eventhough it actually contained Traditional lightly spiced chicken soup with tomatoes & onions, garnished with tortilla strips, cheese & cilantro. In addition, the Chili Con Queso is the best for the chips! :D

Next main course for each of us are determine by draw lot. Well i guess i am lucky one since i get Love Star Burritos. It was beeeeefffffffffffff! :D

* Love Star Burritos *

One thing i heard everyone complaining about their main course is the mexican rice is not consistence in term of taste (some spicy some not) and some hot some cold eventhough the manager claim the rice are cooked together.

Nevertheless, the Love Star Burritos is made from marinated beef brisket, chili con carne, refried beans, cheddar cheese & hot sauce wrapped in flour tortilla, topped with chili con queso & chili con carne. The portion is awesome! Imagine whole meat wrap together! It was very big portion and feeling even for me! But i guess too much meat made u abit jelak ;/

* Ranchera Chicken Tacos *

The Ranchera Chicken Tacos belong to gf is made by Crispy corn tortillas with grilled chicken, topped with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes & ranchera sauce. Served with Mexican rice & refried beans.

Next we are given a choice again to have our dessert. Since i wanted to eat cheese i choose Cheesecake Chimichanga. GF take the Chocolate Chipotle Brownies. I am quite curious with the Black Label Sundae ordered by Marilyn. U know I know what we all expecting when we heard the Black Label ;P

* Cheesecake Chimichanga *

I am quite surprise when my Cheesecake Chimichanga served in front of me..i tod the waiter did the wrong one and ended up, it is real 1..in Mexican style! LOL...well, it was made by crispy flour tortilla filled with homemade cheesecake, topped with strawberry syrup. Inside contained alot of milk, yea real alot! Seriously it can make me feel jelak ;/

* Chocolate Chipotle Brownies *

The Chocolate Chipotle Brownies is sweet & spicy, a Frontera original, topped with Vanilla ice cream & chocolate sauce. The brownies was abit hard and dry, not my favourite but some of them like it.

* Black Label Sundae *

Finally for the Black Label Sundae, it was a disappointment because it wasn't reli had Black Label inside literally...It is chocolate chipotle brownies topped with Mexican caramel, Vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream & cherry. Not my type of sundae ;/

Overall, it was very well served food and services by Frontera. I was stuffed with the food and almost die and kenot move, haha

Anyway, do vote for me if u wan the Love Star Burritos stay on their menu! ;) Click here yo!

 * Philippe spaghetti (forgot flavour) *
