I still remember back to last 2 months when I travel to Hong Kong, I did not have any data at all. I depends alot on Wi-Fi in my guest house and feel sad unable to use my phone at all to share my HK experience immediately when I am at outdoor. I can't update my facebook, share my holiday photos in Instagram, use Google map when I am lost, reply important email or whatsapp to my family. Fortunately for you guys now! Digi promises no bill shock when you travel and data roam overseas.
Digi offered an unlimited roaming via your mobile phone, laptop and even tablet with a daily max cap from as low as RM32/day. You also can roam with 41 operators worldwide.
Data usage of 3MB and above will be charged at a flat rate (daily max cap) of RM32/RM36/RM56 per day.
Data usage less than 3MB will be charged at:
• RM10.66/MB with 10kb charging block for RM32/day
• RM12/MB with 10kb charging block for RM36/day
• RM18.66/MB with 10kb charging block for RM56/day
Are you curious actually how much less than 3MB is? Here some To demonstrate how much 1MB data is used based on consumer’s behaviour, here’s a snapshot:
• Based on an average picture size of 60KB, user can upload about 15 pictures with 1MB
• Based on about 1KB per message, about 1000 messages (without attachment) can be sent/received via Whatsapp for 1MB
Another example, if you travelling to Bangkok, SMS rate is RM0.99 per SMS. For RM32, you can only send up to 32 SMSes. But if you activate roaming with unlimited internet for RM32/day, you can send unlimited messages for the day (24 hours), PLUS do all of the above I just mentioned! Facebook, Instagram, Google Map and etc!
In conclusion, for those who want worry-free roaming, just activate your data roaming abroad because you won’t be charged more than the daily max cap. Even if you're not a heavy data user, you will be charged based on ‘Pay As You Use’ method, which means if you only use up to 1MB of data, you will be charged according to the charging block, ie. RM10.66/MB (depending on which country you are in).
Digi, always the smartest choice!
